PB - the important thing is that you don't want to smoke anymore. Your quit is your quit. I am so glad that you didn't post saying that you caved and you are proud of it! You slipped, it sucked, and you are back on track. This is a process, we each quit differently. This is a support group, I am going to support your decision to continue on with your quit. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 323 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,845 Amount Saved: $1,356.60 Life Gained: Days: 29 Hrs: 22 Mins: 50 Seconds: 34

Hi PB! Glad to see you came back! That IS what's most important anyway. Yes, raising teenagers is hard, they just don't seem to realize that we really do have their best interests at heart! It's our job to be a good parent, and sometimes, the kids just don't co-operate with that, because they can't see the outcome or the future repercussions of the choices they make. Hang in there PB, parenting is also one of those things that gets easier as they get older! Next time there is a crisis, you will know for sure that smoking won't help at all! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 267 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,675 Amount Saved: $2,816.85 Life Gained: Days: 32 Hrs: 15 Mins: 34 Seconds: 31

So you smoked. Things happen and we learn and grow. I can not tell you how many times I have had to come here and say I smoked. We tend to beat ourselves up pretty badly and it doesn't change a thing. Raising a teenage is never and easy task. What got me though was the fact there were lots of grandparents out there. They all had to have survived raising teenagers. I am not making light of your situation. I had a son who was a nightmare from he!! so I do understand. Also understand this no one can take those day that you were smoke free away from you. Now just move forward, it will get better. PB, I'm sorry you slipped, but so glad you came right back & picked your quit back up. I can't add anything to all the great advice you've already received, just wanted to add my support & tell you I'm proud of you for not quitting quitting. Hang in with us, you know how, we'll get it done. You don't owe it to us. You owe it to you, though. I know how you feel, I think, and it would have eaten me up to have just faded away. You know we don't judge you. Thats something I really didn't think about much Kelly. I'll have to re-think that one. And yes, I'll post first next time, promise. It was really hard to post this in the first place, I was just going to never come back, but I figured I'd better do it, it's the least that I owe you all, everyone has been a big support here, and I feel like I let a lot of people down. PB.. there are many of us on the verge of meltdown! We are all addicts which means that we are all just one puff away from a pack a day. You realized how valuable your quit is and jumped right back on it. That is to be admired. I believe I would have just kept going. If I ever take another puff, I'll probably smoke for the rest of my life. Lean from this and refuse to give in to the junkie again. It didn't help anyway! Congratulations on jumping right back on the quit wagon. You are to be admired. Something else, PB and I don't know how popular this is going to be but... If it were me in your shoes, I don't think I would make myself start over. I mean, one pack of cigarettes may have interrupted your streak of smoke-free days but I don't think I would reset my quit date. Obviously, it is your decision and yours alone. I'm just saying, in a few years are you going to look back and say, "wow, I could have been quit for 3.5 years if I hadn't smoked those 20 cigarettes over that four day period when my kid was being a @$$." or are you going to say, "I haven't been a smoker for 3.5 years, there was that one pack when the kid was being an @$$ but other than that...". I'm so proud of you for only smoking the one pack, for taking four days to do it and for not buying another! I don't dare do anything like that cuz I'd probably have smoked 6 packs in those four days and might not have been able to end it there. When I started back again last time, I was back to 1-2 packs a day...that day and everyday since. Good for you, PB! I think you have reason to be proud. I really do. :) ps. If it happens again that you think you HAVE to smoke would you please agree to post first? Pretty please? With greger's french toast on top? ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 94 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,820 Amount Saved: $549.90 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 10 Mins: 27 Seconds: 27
