smoking dream

for 16 år siden 0 317 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I had another smoking dream last night. This time in my dream I knew I had quit, but I smoked anyway! SCARY! I'm going to really keep my guard up after that. Thanks everyone!! It's good to know that I'm not alone on this and that I might have them further into my quit. Aloha, I had to change my attitude with alot of things because I really want to maintain my quit. I gave up on trying to control my teen daughter. She was one of my big time triggers and it got to the point where I won't let her get the best of me and we seem to get along better. She knows I love her and I'm easier to live with so it's helped. I don't worry about what if this and what if that, what will be, will be and I deal with each crisis on an individual basis. Anyway great stats everyone and thanks for the continued support!! How funny, Kayla I had one last night....first one in a long time. I wasn't going to post about it, but now I see that some of the long term quitters had them for quite a while too. I was so disappointed in myself, and very relieved when I woke up this morning, to know it was just a dream. btw, you are doing awesome. There seems to be such a change in attitude this time, like you are enjoying this, rather than it being a horrible thing. That you dealt with your mom's hospital stuff without even thinking of lighting up is a major victory. Cigarettes have no role in stress reduction. I am very very proud of you :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 251 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,040 Amount Saved: $1,706.80 Life Gained: Days: 35 Hrs: 1 Mins: 14 Seconds: 10

Yup, I used to get them pretty frequently. I remember in one I was glad that I did it and was bummed out that I didn't smoke it more slowly in order to enjoy it. It didn't impact my quit though! I had one a few months ago and I was pretty lucid while it was going on. I bought my brand, remembered that I didn't have a lighter anymore and would need matches and the cashier gave me the wrong change. I did light the cigarette and thought it was gross and was surprised I was smoking. I also have flying dreams but haven't taken flight yet :) Kayla, they'll pass and it sounds like you are right on track. Congrats on those 23 Days! Hello CC and all! Yes, I have had these dreams as well. I'm a cold turkey quitter. What really freaked me out was dreaming I was smoking, realizing what I was doing and dropping the cigarette like it bit me or something. Then I'm half awake thinking I dropped a lit smoke in my bed and start tearing it up looking for it! {Just another little benefit of being a smoker huh? The wonderful chance of burning down your home.} Good-bye to all that mess! Glad I'm done with it. Hi crazycuban! I'm so glad to hear that your mom is home and feeling better. I am on Chantix too, and I've had a few smoking dreams. I've had the kind where I smoke and wake up feeling freaked out that I've ruined my quit, and I've had the kind where someone offers me a smoke and I tell them "no thanks, I don't smoke". I actually get a kick out of most of my vivid dreams. Some are quite bizarre. You are going so awesome with your quit! Soon you will be celebrating one month!! I used to have lots of dreams! Dreams are even more vivid if you wear the patch at night. Smoking dreams are normal,if rather weird - and that's without ANY medication!! I don't get them that often any more (maybe once a year), but in year 1, I had quite a few. I thought it was an encouraging sign because I really did not want to smoke, and was horrified that I had started again....until I woke up. ;p But very strange - I wonder if it is psychological or physical. CC, I am not using the patch or any prescription and I still had the exact dream earlier this week. Both days woke up feeling guilty, this morning no such thing....weird, but it too will pass!!! Use your pharmacist and doctor to inquire about side effects and dosages. They have a world of knowledge to give :) Josie, Support Specialist

I'm on th patch and have had some odd ball dreams as well, but nothing bad enough that I want to take the patch off at night. I've heard this is pretty common so all we can do is hope for sweet dreams!
