I knew coming to this board would help me feel a little better. As many times as I've gone through this brain fog, I still need reminding that this is common and will go away once I rest my tired mind. For me it started yesterday after I lost a couple of hours sleep (on top of dealing with other problems). It's not too bad today, so I guess it'll pass soon.
Gina, what you said about higher anxiety when sick with colds and stuff is exactly what happens to me, too. I started noticing it in my teens. Whenever I'd catch the latest stomach virus I'd feel like I was going out of my head, especially if there's a fever. It's bad enough to be sick, but to be sick and feeling like you're losing your marbles is a real drag.
I guess the only advice I can think of is to rest and come to this board whenever you need reassurance that these feelings are common and will pass. Also, keep in mind that sometimes we rest our bodies but forget to rest our minds. By that I mean giving ourselves permission to stop trying to think of a solution to our troubles 24/7. Take a break from problem solving for a while and rest your weary brain.
