Thanks Sammi. I am taking meds. Just some valium as needed. I dont
have any long term panic problems. this is just something new, but I
will definitely take the med before flying. Just to save myself the
hassle of having an attack. Thanks again for your advice.
Remember This,
If you do have a panic attack (i hope you dont)
Just tell yourself that you have flown before and everything was fine, and you have also survived many panic attacks before.
Hi Phoenix,
I can totally understand your fear of having a panic attack. I have that fear myself almost daily.
Are you taking meds? If so make sure you dont forget to take them right before you leave for the airport. Also, you might try taking some magazines or something with you that may keep your mind occupied during your trip. Try to think of it as a positive experience, after all... you are going HOME! Theres no place like home, right? lol.
Good luck to you. I'm sure you will be OK. :)
Samantha
I was reading about exposure work and they say to start slow. Here's
the thing. I have to fly home on Monday the 20th. Where I live it is not
in my time budget to go to the airport and take all the small steps like
going near where people arrive and all that etc. The other thing is that
I am not having a fear of flying. I am having a fear of panicing. And I
fear that my panic rating may be a 10. How do I cope with this. Again.
I have never been afraid to fly. This whole panic thing is new for me. I
also fear that I will panic because I cannot flea the situation if I do.
