Hi Elaine, Do not doubt your ability to quit. You can do it...just look around on this site. Alot of people, who scored VERY high on the addiction level test, are doing it...so you can to. You know that you do NOT want to start over again and again and again. Get off the merry go round and just stay quit this time. You will be glad that you did. Get some chocolate, lay on the couch, and watch a movie today..take a hot bath..like Lainey said, Take care of you day. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 277 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,648 Amount Saved: $1,385.00 Life Gained: Days: 38 Hrs: 15 Mins: 30 Seconds: 9

Elaine Yes, it does get tiring. So get your jammies on and get back under the covers. Today is take care of you day. This 50 day mark can be tough. Ride it out. With every storm there are clear skies after, and as you move on in the quit, there are less storms and more clear skies. Just quit for today. Don't think about tomorrow. You're on the cruise ship, so cruise..... Elaine, I know what youre going through and you know there would be very few people on this site who would not have made at least a few attempts before they quit but they did quit, and you can too. Its not easy no one knows this better than I do. I have had, and still have days when I think I will go off my head and I have been depressed and worn out many times but I get through it. I take all the advice from the people here on the SSC These are people who have been there they know what its like if you come here and read the posts at least one person will identify with what you are going through at any given time and they will help you, The people here say it gets easier they are right it does I still have bad days some worst than others BUT it is getting easier as time passes. This is a quote I read I think it was here on the SSC I would rather be a quitter with an occasional urge to smoke, than a smoker with a constant need to quit. You might keep this in mind and it just might help. Hope your day gets better. Chin up Elaine, everyone has a bad day, even non smokers! Chalk it up to being human! Do the deep breathing exercises and have a tall glass of water. Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. Sometimes you just get to fly! You can do it! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 359 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,975 Amount Saved: $3,787.45 Life Gained: Days: 47 Hrs: 2 Mins: 55 Seconds: 20

Elaine, If I can do it, anybody can. You made the cruise, now check out the beach. You did the right thing to post first. You have gotten over the worst part of quitting. The nicotine addiction should be out of your system, so it's all habit from here. Hang tough, it gets easier. Elaine, you CAN make it. I've repeated those day one's and two's on more occasions than I care to think about. I don't want to go through that any more because it IS tiring and it does wear you down. I heard this quote on Oprah and it spoke volumes to me. "It's easier to go forward...and HARDER to keep going back." And the topic on Oprah that day was quitting smoking. Stick with it, Elaine. It really does get easier...I'm banking on that. Be good to yourself right now. Pamper yourself. And remember SSC is always open. Hang in there girl! Cheers, Jan :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/27/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 31 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 775 Amount Saved: $263.50 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 13 Mins: 17 Seconds: 53
