Cabbage - that is funny! You let it go when you can let it go... Then plan a party around it.. have big reward and celebrate freedom, eh!? Honestly, after a year and a half wouldn't you rather put poop in your mouth than that tasteless, disgusting gum? Safety net? I don't think so. Nicotine in any form is really a bad idea. Cabbage, Treat the gum like you did the cigarettes 18 months ago. Call it quits, get ride of it just like you did cigarettes and all of your smoking paraphernalia a year and a half ago. You don't need it, you've been nicotine free for a long time now, it's just the old nicodemon tricking you. Brenna, Bilingual Health Educator

*grins* set a "quit" date and throw (or give) away the safety net. You can always go buy some if you needed to....but you won't need to! Congrats! you're almost 18 months! LOL I have to laugh at myself. I have a big box of left over nicotine gum and I just can't bring myself to throw it away, or give it away. The problem? I've been having junkie talk about my NRT lol The other day, I had a smoking dream and the only way I could coax myself out of bed was to remember that box of gum in the kitchen drawer. Of course, as soon as I stepped out of bed the smoking dream faded and the desire for the gum was forgotten. Yet even as I sit here and giggle over the absurdity of worrying about having a 'slip' with a quit smoking aid, I have to take myself seriously at some level. The truth is, I want to have a piece and that's not good, heck the stuff is so old it would probably crumble like a cookie on the first bite!
