Is any one taking Amitriptyline?

I take amytripuline. I was off it for 4 months, but needed to get back on it as I fell into panic hard. I take a combo called triavil. I can feel it starting to move into my system. I've had good success with it in the past, but last year I felt I did not need it anymore. This is something many people think where they can do it without the drug. Some can and some cannot. Once it starts working it is really good for depression and anxiety. I am now waiting for it to start working. Only been two days. I know the dizzy feelings you speak of. I've never fainted, but had many dizzy spells. They are scary. The dizzy feelings coupled with the feeling of losing control are just awful. If your doctor feels you may be helped by this anti-depressant then by all means try it. David

Lily, I also can get that dizzy feeling, I have to talk to myself and tell myself that is only anxiety. And from what I've read that very rarely do people pass out. I also go to the chiropractor to get adjusted. Last week I was really tensed up and stiff in the neck and shoulder blades and I woke up very dizzy. I made appt. to get adjusted. Even after he adjusted me I was some what dizzy, but he reasured me that it will get better and it did. I am getting better at trusting what they say and not try and scare my self that there is something bad with my health. We can hold alot of tension in our neck and shoulders with this disorder and it can cause us to get out of line in our spine. Just a note to let you know what I've tried and it has worked for me. Lots of tender care and thoughts, your way.

Hi Lilly, I am sure that your fellow members will be responding to your post soon. I just wanted to remind you that we are all individuals and as such may experience medications differently. As you mentioned, some people are able to manage panic without medications, yet thers have had great results with medications. What works for some may not work so well for others. It is understandable to be hesitant with starting on meds. Please be sure to follow up with your doctor and let them know what you decide with this particular medication. Let us know how you are doing. Casey _____________________________ The Panic Center Support Team
