Hi Fighter...definitely felt that way..actually slept through as much of the first three days as I could. Drink lots of cold water, stay close to the site and you'll be o.k. Your name wouldnt be fighter if you werent a fighter right?? My first day was Monday. It was definatley tough. I wish I would have quit 10 yrs ago when I was 23. I was head strong and said, I love to smoke and I dont want to quit. I admire you maturity. When you are feeling the urge, go straight to your computer and post or read. Someone is always here. Hi Fighter I know exactly how you feel. But you can do it. Drink lots of water and reward yourself at the end of the day!

Hi Fighter, I am new to my quit as well and I can promise you the dreamy feeling is normal, I am not a doctor but I think it has something to do with a change in your blood pressure, smoking heightens it and quitting lowers it to a normal level (we are just not used to it anymore) I was given some great advice that helped and still does, and that is to sleep, rest, nap as much as possible, your body and mind need it. Keep in touch :) P.S. Your mileage has already started, you have already added over an hour to your life gained stat! Fighter, Welcome to the SSC and congrats on making the decision to quit smoking. This feeling is totally normal and will eventually go away. Give your body some time to heal and rest up. Take a day off work to sleep or relax and watch some movies. Your counter has already started. Enjoy watching the numbers rise! Brenna, Bilingual Health Educator

Hi Fighter... Hang in there I was lost in space for about a week.. It us the poison getting out of your system and the cloud starting to lift... hang in there.. I know it is a REALLY strange feeling. It goes away I swear it does.. Drink lots of water and help the toxins get out of your body.. take naps.. or exercise what ever helps. I ran around with N O P E in my head and kept reading posts and filled oout the worksheets.. stay occupied. ((((hugs))) Bonnie My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/10/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 45 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 765 Amount Saved: $153.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 12 Mins: 45 Seconds: 50

Of course what you are feeling is totally normal..Much to be expected..Please do not give in and smoke!!! This will pass..It does! It happened to me for sure..It was not a constant feeling but I had that *foggy* feeling for about a week. Then it was over..Almost like a dark cloud finally lifting and the sun shining through!!! Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and just KNOW that yes this WILL pass and I will be so much better for it!!
