Stressed, Nervous, Lack of Patience ....

When I am stressed and also when possible I drive...and I usually go to the beach and listen to the waves, I also love taking a bath by candle light, I have a serenity CD that I listen to with the sounds of the waves and gulls.. two of my favorite things. Hi, I take candle light baths with solf music. I talk to my friends, and family, I bake bread, clean house, and pray. I keep a stress rock in my pocet for when I am in a meeting or working with a client. What I do with my rock is tell myself that the rock is my stress and I hold on to it real tight and then I slowly release to presser and rub it with my finger like I am comforting it. This helps me to self comfort. later when I am free I look at what is the reason for the stress and apply the Serenity pray to it. Stay srong, Keep the quit. I do dishes or clean the house when stressed. If I'm not at home, talking a walk helps me calm down. I use music, all the time! Music (depending on what kind) can have all kinds of healing affects. A lot of ppl. tend to forget about the one thing that is right in front of our eyes. Especially if you have an IPOD or an MP3 player. Music has really encouraged, strengthened, and relaxed my soul through these past 9 days. Give it a try, you can't go wrong. Thanks Peace and Rusty, your right, you can never have too much knowledge. I try and think of a really happy thought, maybe a good memory, or a time when I remember being at peace. I concentrate on it and try to bring that feeling back. It doesn't always work, but it redirects my thoughts it a positive manner. Great ideas, Peace. Deep breathing and affirmations are always helpful for me, as well. Hi all ! I've been coming across a lot of posts here where many of us are feeling more stressed, nervous and losing our patience (a little more than usual). I think it's a pretty common thing when we stop smoking. Our bodies are changing dramatically, we are going through withdrawals, we are having incredible cravings and often we are just plain tuckered out as a result -- who wouldn't be ? Well I was thinking about the combination of the above and thought I would share some of the things I have found which have really helped my body and my mind during my quit. 1. White Tea - has incredible benefits... these are their claims -- "White tea has been shown to have a positive effect in fighting cancer-causing cells, and may in fact help protect against certain types of cancer including prostate, stomach or colon cancers. Other healthful benefits from drinking white tea include greater bone density and strength, protection against many bacteria and viruses, even helping lower blood pressure. Has the highest level of antioxidants of all varieties of tea. In fact, research reveals that white tea has 10 times more antioxidants than vitamin E." For me personally it does give me a sense of serenity. 2. Vitamin B 100 Complex - I've been using it for 2 months and my level of energy has increased noticeably after taking it for 3 weeks. It also helps with lowering blood pressure and gives one a sense of well being. Helps with stress levels and anxiety levels as well. I am currently on anti depressants and an anti anxiety med and my dr. said it will not affect those meds. I never take anything over the counter without consulting with my dr. 3. Fragranced reed diffusers - I purchased one of these about 2 weeks ago and OH MY GOODNESS the fragrance is SO relaxing. Mine is 'Lemongrass and Coriander' which is known to revitalize, uplift and refresh. I have it on my bedside table and it really gives me a sense of well being .. lovely to fall asleep with and to awaken to :) These are only suggestions to help calm down our nervous systems... give us a sense of serenity. If anyone has any other suggestions .. little tid bits of things out of the ordinary please add them. There's no such thing as too much knowledge :) Peace :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 580 Amount Saved: $261.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 8 Mins: 47 Seconds: 46
