Just wanted to share a little story....
Just the other day my significant other and I were talking about how far we have come with our quits. Just about how we can't stand the smell of smoke anymore and how we don't stink like we did and so on. Well, the kids were in the car with us... and my son spoke up and said, "Mom, you gave me the best belated birthday present ever." I sat there a minute thinking back to last year and could not figure out what he was talking about... So, of course I asked him just what give he was talking about... he said, "Mom you quit smoking on April 18th... that was just 5 days after my birthday and that was the best belated birthday present you could have ever given me. This out of the mouth of a kid who will be 12 on April 13th!!!
I shared this story because I was a little self absorbed when it came to quiting. I only thought about me... and that was how I got through nearly a year now.. Lots of SELF talk and SELF time and so on... But, to hear that out of my son's mouth I realized I did this for me, but it also benifited my children... SO, on those days that are so hard and the cravings so strong... think of the gift you are giving not only yourself, but also your kids!!!
Keep the quit!!!
