I have been fighting this eating thing for a while and all I know is that if I keep it healthy and excercise like crazy I'll get back to normal eventually! Hey Diane08! I started to see most things starting to ease up around six months. (181 days) When you think about how long most of us smoked, six montha is not a long time. We put alot of poisons into our bodies over those years! Hang in there, the appetite eases, as does all the other changes! It will pass! You are doing great! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 407 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,175 Amount Saved: $4,293.85 Life Gained: Days: 53 Hrs: 11 Mins: 7 Seconds: 39

Hi Diane, Watch those tunnel lights.....sometimes a train! I am in the same boat my eating is really out of control. Have started cutting back a little at least to healthier snacks. I know that is because of the not smoking, was going to tell my husband I wanted a "lemon cookie" but it came out" lemon cigarette" instead LOL so that erased any doubt. ;) The not smoking is way too important to get too shook-up over some weight gain really and you seem to understand that. The sister site Josie mentioned is very helpful for me. I found some great ideas theresure you will as well. In the meantime....stay strong in your quit and have a great smoke-free day. Diane, You body is adjusting, so it will take time. For now be active about you eating habits. Drink lots of water, eat low calorie snacks and prepare your meals and snacks ahead of time, this makes it easier to grab the good stuff! If you would like some more information, please visit our sister site at www.healthyweightcenter.net. There are some great tips and tools to assist you both :) Josie, Health Educator

Hi, Hubby and I are doing good so far. I have cravings a lot more then he does, but I'm dealing ok .We sure eat though. Seems we're always hungry. And we are gorging! My husband says right now he'd rather be fat and smoke free then thinner and be smoking. I'm really worrying about putting on all the extra weight! BUT, I do know I don't want to smoke. So....we eat, and eat, and eat...guess we'll deal with the weight gain somewhere down the road. When does the appetite go back to normal??(dopey question, I know, but looking for the light at the end of the tunnel I guess!) Thanks for listening. :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/28/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 340 Amount Saved: $51.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 6 Mins: 25 Seconds: 51
