Great post, Stickin'!
I liked what you said, "life goes on whether you smoke or not."   After wrapping my head around that, the question in my mind, "Why smoke?" makes a lot of sense.  And smoking makes no sense at all.
Keep doin' what you're doin'.

Cheers,

Jan

As I was leaving work today, I felt an object in my inside coat pocket, about the size of a dollar bill folder in half lengthwise and then folder lengthwise in half again. I stuck my hand deep into the inside pocket definitely stiffer than a dollar I thought to myself, but I couldn’t get to it to pull it out. I unzipped my jacket to get a visual on it and saw a smaller pocket just above and to the left of the one I was picking on. I put a couple of fingers in the smaller pocket and between them, pressing firmly, lifted the unknown out of pocket. Oh my God! Just goes to show how often my jacket finds its way to the cleaners. There in the palm of my hand and to be used only in the case that all my other coping options wouldn’t hold up, sat my last defense, one lone 7mg patch.

Honest it just so seems like yesterday when I lit my last cigarette up. Time does march on and sad to say quickly too. There are plenty of reasons to smoke however I have yet to find any worthwhile to let it slip away. Life goes on whether you smoke or not. If you don’t smoke however, you will appreciate the added mental clarity, physical well being, respect and the opportunity to shout from the tallest of trees, “I did what I set out to do”. Put a feather in your cap, as you so deserve!
