I have been on Lexapro for about 2 years. I recently weaned myself off of Lexapro. I took the last pill about 3 weeks ago. (10 mg daily) The electric shocks were becoming more and more frequent is the reason I decided to come off the Lexapro. Well...I have been dizzy, nauseated, and had a "whooshing" feeling in my body. I was very uncomfortable but it was bearable. However, last Friday I had one of the worse panic attacks I have ever had. I was awakened from my sleep. It was absolutley horrific. I had some Xanex so I took it but I have placed a call to my Dr. to see what I should do. I had talked with my druggist earlier and thought the worse was over. Unfortunately, it was not.
Long story short I was taking Paxil which I felt worked pretty well - but i was gaining a pretty intense amount of weight so the Doctor thought we could try Effexor which generally is not working as well as the paxil was.
I'm now starting lexapro - weaning slowly off the effexor. Any side effects I should worry about? Any withdrawl symptoms? I feel like it shouldn't be any worse than stopping paxil to take effexor. I wasn't on effexor more than i think 4 months anyway.
I'm taking lamictal, effexor (stopping that one), lexapro, clonazapam and gabitril. I feel like a guinea pig sometimes since we have to keep switching even though i know everyone is different and the only way to see what works is to try different things.
I'm taking them for anxiety, panic, and a touch of obsessiveness/control issues.
Just wanted some advice.
Thanks
Jenn
