Does anyone else find that they have more energy, are having better sleeps, and require less caffeine?

Interesting!  I guess I'm not quite alone on this one although AK I don't understand how you can drink that blah...My dad drank a lot of pop when he was young and ended up becoming a diebetic...He switched to diet and after a few months said that the diet starts to taste as good as the regular did and the regular tastes awful....I think it's the drugs personally...For instance after you don't smoke for a long time the first cigarette always tastes like ash A.K.A what it really tastes like but after awhile we adapt and convince ourselves it's awesome...Luckily I'll never have to worry about that ash taste again....

I also share your weird patterns AK...At night I was feeling exhausted but I was so restless I had trouble getting to sleep.  I also woke up a lot during the night.  It didn't bother me though, after a couple nights I noticed that although I was spending a lot of time walking around at night I was still waking up refreshed in the morning.

CD - I read something on that before.  I can't remember where but they say that because there is more oxygen going to our brains now while we sleep we don't need as much as we used to to feel refreshed.

Anyways, thanks all.  Good chat.

Thank you for the comments on the caffeine.

That's a nice benefit to the quit. I am a morning person (typically) and I have also noticed higher energy as I wake up. Maybe it's because we are sleeping much better now that our airways are not compromised?

Those signs of the body in recovery/healing are wonderful.  I loved being able to take a deep breath whenever I wanted to and not have to take three attempts at it!!

Mr. Q  I am so happy for you! What a revelation that must have been. I have been surprised at all the strange but sometimes little things that are happening. I call  what you felt like pre-quit, as smoking hangover. I would always feel that way in the morning. Have you noticed that your mouth does not feel like 100,000 troops have sludged through your mouth all nite. Oh and the awful film that covered everything, teeth, tongue, cheeks etc., is gone!!! As Karen noted earlier, I now have a pretty pink tongue instead of a gray one with heavy film. YUK.
Continue the Success,
Pupikat

Mr. Q,

Enjoy these new experiences! Just another one of the great benefits of quitting. This is great encouragement to all our our newest quitters.
