Hi Miss Marple

That is so cool!  It sure is gratifying to know that your work is worthwhile, and that your message was heard.
You are right.  It is all about confronting our fear and challenges head on and rising above them.
Congratulations on rising above your challenges and coming out on top.  It will be very worthwhile and once again your message has been heard.

MM, how wonderful for him to send you this letter and how your words changed his life.  You are correct that it does apply to smoking too.  We are no longer victims of the abuse the Nicodemon inflicted on us for for many years.  We chose to rise about it.  Thanks for sharing with all of us!

Absolutely fantastic!!!!  Life is about making a difference....in the lives of others....in your personal growth.....as we journey from here to there.  What a great way to start the day.

what a rewarding letter, and how great to know that you did make a difference
You coul apply this to quitting as well, either be a victim of the nicodemon or rise above it and quit

Hhmmmmmmm.....For the most part, I have become to really dislike my job and all that it entails.  I truly look forward to retirement one day.
Today, I got a letter from a young man that I did not remember until I did a little searching.  Without going into some very squalid detail, this young man told me that he is now 29 years old, married and has a beautiful son that is a year old.  He went to college and got his degree and is now working to help others go through what he went through 14 years ago.
Once I remembered him, he has no 'real' family and had been a victim of some horrific abuse.  He told me in the letter that something I said had stayed with him all this time.  He said I told him that he could choose to rise above this, or become a perpetual victim.  He wanted me to know that he chose the first option and that I had made a difference.
Out of all the hundreds that choose the other option, this is the guy that makes it worth it.
You can chose to rise above this or become a perpetual victim can apply to a lot of situations, can't it?
