Sfree.

I'm certainly no stronger than yourself. I look at you and think 'that lady has won already'.  Theres a whole train of belief in modern radical Christianity that goes along the lines of 'Christ beat everything for you, all you have to do is accept it'. Whether that meets with your religeous beliefs (or even mine, i'm not too sure on that one) is a different matter. Regardless its a decent analogy of the way i see your situation. You've already won, now you have to live as the victor. You've already got free of nicotine, you've beat the addiction. Now you have to live free of it. Thats the undiscovered country.

Great job Nick.  The way I look at it is that we are going to continue to have these stressful situations and are goingt to have to get through them smoke free.  You hit that situation early in your quit which is a great sign that you are determined.  Keep it up!  Your strength encourages the rest of us!

Nick F,

Good for you for sticking with it even though you are going through a stressful time right now.  Sounds like you have a really good handle on your quit. Keep up the awesome work and keep posting on how you are doing.

Well the unavoidable situation quickly became avoidable. 3 days into the job i found out the hourly rate was around 90pence per hour. An utter joke of a wage for a skilled construction worker. So i quit the job.

Didnt cave into having a smoke though despite the depression. I figured why make a bad situation worse, why make myself feel worse. I may not be earning any money but atleast i dont have to buy cigarettes.

A bit of rational thinking killed the craving.

My mom was really chuffed that i have quit smoking. So much so that she's asking me how i did it, what should she do? Hopefully she'll do something about it soon, her breathing is terrible. I think it did me good to be around my mom. I discovered how horrible the taste of cigarette smoke is without having to light up.

Anyhow i'm back in my smokefree home in the country now. The CO filled city is far behind me. I'm off to the smoking cessation clinic in a little while. I'm expecting my CO levels to be up a bit from the 2 i scored last week because of the location/situation ive been in recently.

This site has really helped me so far. I honestly cant thank ALL OF YOU enough, you've helped me save my own life.
