Did we really know what we were inhaling?

Non-smokers would tell me about all the chemicals & i used to say..."that's pretty good value for just 5 bucks then" !.. i knew about the chemicals & what i was doing to myself, like all other smokers i just chose to ignore.

There are a lot of nasty things out there + our genetic links play a part in this, smoking is just another catalyst & contributes to the mix.

The health risks with smoking are pretty obvious & lets face it as a smoker you just don;t care. I think more importantly is the emotional blackmail that comes with the addiction. The smoking 'lifestyle' addition just sucks the life right out of you emotionally & physically... life just passes you by & you don't give a care.

Just don't smoke !

You know, Spacecas, I think that smoking does increase our chances for cancer of the cervix. There really isn't an organ that smoking doesn't affect. I have an older friend who has stomach cancer right now. Every two months she ordered ten cartons of cigarettes off of the Internet and ate rarely. Cigarettes were her food. Her doctors have told her to quit smoking. She says, What for? She has a point. Her cancer is advanced. I think smoking is at least one of the causes of her cancer.

I agree with you all on this also as sad as it is...It really makes  you wonder how you could be so dumb to poison yourself and keep puffing knowing what it is and what it can do to you...I have had that little voice in my head for years telling me I need to quit because it was killing me but as the usaul smoker does I ignored it, but when the doctor said cancer granted it is pre-cervical  cancer, I screamed and cussed at myself for being so dumb and said that enough was enough and it was time to quit before the next thing couldn't be cured......To bad that sometimes it takes something like this to really open your eyes..

I agree Brenda and Marivi... It didn't matter what was in it when I was smoking either.... but looking at it again as a non-smoker, it sure does help me stay away from it.  I was poisoning myself and hope that it isnt too late to repair whatever damage it may have already caused....

Tabbyh: I do agree with Brenda. It is such a nasty addiction, that I wouldn't care.
