Congratulations on 30 days smoke free! You should feel extremely proud of yourself, as it is a huge accomplishment! Like you said, you haven't gone that long without a cigarette in 30 years, so you should feel very very impressed with yourself

Yeah but, as you can see, many of us have experienced the same feelings you are experiencing.  The newness has worn off.  Triggers and stresses may be coming back.  You've hit a ton of milestones, so you need to make sure you are rewarding yourself like Jim said.  Find simple rewards, little ways to treat yourself well.  I like MM's idea of helping others.  Donating time to a charity.  Spending time with folks in need.  Walking, exercising, smelling the roses.  Somebody called the weeks after Heck Week as "Blah Weeks."  Just remember that this temporary inconvenience will yield a HUGE permanent improvement!  Boy do those 32 days look great on ya!

I also had those feelings......
One thing that perked me up was to do something for someone else.  Someone in need.  A visit to the nursing home, bake banana bread for a friend shut in because of health issues, donate some canned goods to the local homeless shelter, etc....
It made me feel good to know I was trying to make a difference and reminded me that there were others out there with bigger problems than mine.
Congrats on 30 days.  That is wonderful!  Keep the quit!

      Kaiser is exactly right!!!  Right now you are in the middle of what I like to call "Milestone Week!!!"   A few days ago, you reached the 4 week milestone!!!    Wooo Hooo!!!!  A couple of days ago was the 30 day milestone....  MORE  Woooo Hoooo's!!!!!    And then it was the 1 month milestone on Tuesday!!!!   Bigger and more Woooo Hooo's!!!  Are you ready...  Saturday comes the 5 week milestone!!!  Time to party and reward yourself!!!
 
      Think of some special reward to give to yourself that will get those endorphins flowing again!  Exercise is another way to get the endorphins going!  Try to see all of the positives that are happening in your life now that you have quit smoking!  One of the things that I notice the most and rejoiced about was my sense of smell!!!  I could smell again!!!  There weren't too many flowers that I passed that I didn't stick my big schnoz in to get a wiff!!!  I rejoiced every day because it was like getting a new sniffer!  That made me happy and would definitely get me out of a funk in no time!
 
      Use the search function here and read about what others have done to improve their outlook!!!  There are a LOT of threads on the subject!!  Don't worry...  it won't last for ever, I promise!!!

Thanks for responding.  I will just continue on one day at a time.  My lack of energy and enthusiasm are a little scarey.  Before I stopped smoking I was always busy doing something and full of energy for projects but not now.  How long does it take to change?

    I had these feelings early in my quit also.  I thought that I would have an instant cure all and feel on top of the world the day I quit.  The good feelings will come in time.  You need to reward yourself.  The little rewards for accomplishments such as 30 days will pick up your feelings.  Hang in there it is so worth it.

First, 30 days is awesome, even if you don't feel it right now.  I felt exactly the same, and it will get better, then it will hit you again.  You just need to hang on to the fact that you are not smoking and that is fantastic.  It takes time to heal, but be proud of yourself for now.

Hi,
 
I just celebrated 30 days nicotine and smoke free!!! Yeah.  That was a huge accomplishment for me.  I haven't been that long without a cigarette in 30 years.  I should be on top of the world right?  Well I'm not.  I feel very blah and just kinda here going through the motions.  Did anyone have the blahs and no energy at 30 days?  I need some encouragement from myself or anyone.  This feeling sux.  I just want to lay around and do nothing.
