Katey, boy do those 138 smoke free days look great on ya! Its weird how the nicodemon tries to draw us back. I agree that you should not have to give in during your favorite morning crossword puzzle time! Tell the nicodemon to get his own puzzles! Maybe do the puzzles in a different room of your house? Rearrange furniture so things are different? Do whatever it takes to protect your quit! Please rant and rave as much as you need! And remember that this temporary inconvenience will yield a HUGE permanent improvement!

Just thought I'd pop in to give a happy shout out that I am still smoke free. I am floored that I have saved $547 & change. That's a LOT of money to throw away to a habit that made me feel like death warmed over...every time I smoked. Geeze!
I've made a huge transition in my life, moving to a completely new city by myself, and am still plagued with urges to smoke. I even have that just-smoked-a-cigarette feeling in the back of my throat, particularly in the mornings with my coffee. That was my favorite time to smoke and I did LOTS of it along with my coffee (up to 8 to 10 smokes in a couple of hours...crazy!). Morning is my time to read, do the crossword puzzle...just be by myself with no distractions. I insist in not relinguishing this time for myself. It seem silly to me to give that up due to quitting smoking. I have a feeling I"m stronger than that and am patient enough to give myself the opportunity to build new associations in my brain. Granite, it is uncomfortable, but knowing that was a big part of my commitment this time around. It's gonna be uncomfortable...period. And then it won't be so uncomfortable. And then it won't be uncomfortable. Pretty simple, really. (Yeah, right, you might say) But, yes, it really is. It's just...uncomfortable. LOL
Thanks for being here for me to rant on occassion. I really do appreciate this site & refer friends here all the time.
Katey
