Yes, Samantha. I have found an inner peace. I'm beginning to calm down. My anxiety level is lowering. I truly believe that I'll never smoke again, because I just don't want to.

Brenda,

It sounds like you've really found an inner peace with yourself in regards to smoking, am I right? Those "AHA" moments, where things just click and you feel comfortable in your current situation is when you know that you have been doing something right and all the hard work has paid off. We will always be here for you. Continue to post as your contributions are much appreciated from other members as you can see!

What would you say was key to reaching this epiphany?

I did the same thing, Brenda.  In fact, I feel that this site has become a replacement to my old smoking routine.

I, too, do not find the need to post and hang by the site as I did in the early days.  But I am so appreciative of this outlet and thankful for the contributors here, because it has been the key to my quit.  I am weaning my postings, but love to see the growth and progress of others....and this weird cyber-relationship thing that we all share with each other!

Whatever it takes, Keep the Quit,

Dave

Hi Brenda
I stayed glued to this site from day four of my quit until two months ago. The number of posts in my profile confirm this.
Every quit is different but I felt safe here. I still remind myself every night that I shall remain quit the next day.

Since about 27 days into my quit, I have been an almost constant on this board. Last night I came here at a little past 11:00 pm to see my new stats. I especially like it when a new day starts. However, last night I had this deep sense that I no longer need to hang on to this board so tightly, that those numbers are just going to go up each day whether I me here or not. They will not become negative days; nor will the meter be reset at zero. This doesn't mean that I don't feel I need to watch out for the nicodemon. I do. What it does mean is that I am sincerely ready to back the pledge I made months ago never to smoke again. (I feel it deep in my heart and mind.) I also feel less like I need to clock in here every single day, sometimes six or seven times. The clock will move forward even if I don't watch it. I can finally relax a little.
