Almost through your first week! That is great! 

Feeling a little down early in a quit is common.  When you smoked, nicotine triggered the release of neurotransmitters in your brain. These neurotransmitters are responsible for good mood. When you quit, it isn't uncommon for your mood to take a nose dive.

This case of the blues is temporary and until it passes, there are a few things you can d

* Exercise as it releases endorphins and these are also conducive to good mood.

* Rewarding yourself with something pleasurable. This triggers the same release of neurotransmitters we mentionned.

* Get outside and get adequate rest as these also affect your mood.

Another tip I can give you is check out Milestone 6.  This session will teach you aout charting your progress.  Charting your progress is great for keeping yourself motivated and it also puts down days into perspective.

Feeling better today...just really depresssed.  Closing in on completing the first week; which is by far the toughest.  Taking deep breaths does help.  Many thanks for all the support.  I'm just a little disappointed in myself for lighting up again and being in this rat hole.  I'm definately the type that cannot have even one puff.  That was all it took for me to be right back into smoking.  Enough of that........I am no longer a smoker Yeah  Yeah Yeah.  My focus is on my quit.  I am in the middle of preparing a nice dinner so that will keep me busy for while.  I actually went to the gym yeterday.  Even though I'm very limited as to what I can do, it still felt good just being there and doing 20 min on the treadmill.  I will keep working on me and staying close here.  Feel better!!
