Hi All

Day 4 was the easiest from the 1st 3 days but don`t get me wrong, it`s not gone...I know I have a long way to go and like you all say, one crave/day at a time.

Its been 93 hrs 37 mins since I had my last smoke. I would have smoked soooooo many by now...the Champix tabs are really helping...they are actually an amazing pill/drug.

I have been in the office all day today....3 hours on the phone and doing my yearly tax...now when I used to smoke..I would have had 2 packs no problem.

Also I have not eaten as much today...normal lunch and evening meal but not like the 1st 3 days where I totally replaced Nico for food...thats a good sign.

So now a crave has come.... my milestones state its dogwalking time. I`ll check back tommorrow but all is going very smoothly here.

Keep going strong, Tony!  One hour, one crave at a time.  You're doing very well.  Keep your coping techniques with you all the time right now.  Water, gum, deep breathing, walking, napping, watching good tv shows, etc.  Every bit helps!!!!

We're rooting you on,
Jan

Hi Tony,

Congratulations on being quit for 2 days! It sounds like you are determined to make this quit stick and you are working hard to achieve this!

Take a look in your glove compartment, there are 6 really important milestones to help you have the most success with your quit. Milestone 4 has lots of suggestions on overcoming cravings and temptations. Read through the milestones, and let us know which sections were particularly helpful to you.

Members, how did you make sure to stick with your quit in the early stages?

Hey Tony!

Way to go!!!!!!

I know EXACTLY what you mean about smoking being so automatic! My biggest triggers are getting on the phone and the computer I go to automatically grab a cig!

Every day we are getting stronger! Keep up the GREAT work!

Yes its working again but not counting my chickens as yet. Champix have kicked in and the withdrawal symptons are there, but minimal.

I automatically look for a smoke. When I`m in work and sat at my desk, I allowed myself to smoke, so now, when I`m working and I automatically go to get one...then something clicks in my brain and I laugh to myself..."there ya go, another crave beaten away"....................

Also, I got mints, chewy(sugafree) fruit and also treats like chocs etc as a gift to myself....I am being strong and have to be coz the pills dont pack in for ya. I was talking on the phone just and automatically went to get a smoke...its like an auto-pilot and ya have to keep turning it off!!!

Food is a problem as I already weigh 17 stone 12 pound..( 250lb ) and I am watching this closley as I weighed myself on quit day!!

I also have a Facebook account with which I have approx 1900 friends on there and they all know I have given up and they, well 99% of them spur me on....the 1% take the mickey but all in fun!!

So thats where I am and doing OK.....How are you doing???? Tell Me...xx
