DAY 8 depression is setting in

for 14 år siden 0 34 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
The first three weeks or so of my quit, I woke up thinking about smoking, and had numerous "instinctive" thoughts about smoking throughout the day.  I would find myself unconsciously pushing my chair back from my desk, only to realize that I was doing so because my brain thought it was time for a cigarette.  Somehow, I actually found it funny at the time, but I couldn't help but wonder how long that would go on.  Fortunately, I expected it to take a while, so it didn't really bother me, and I am happy to say that in the grand scheme of things, it passed pretty quickly, although it didn't seem like it at the time.

I don't know anything about depressed children.  But I guess I can do some research on it.  Just feeling lost when I first woke up.  Now that it's the middle of the day, I'm feeling better.  I've got a project going so I'm going out to work on that .  Thanks for the replies and honest help.

Hi Rubygem, many of us suffered feelings of depression when e first quit smoking.  Keep walking. Run even.  Act like you're parenting a child. As a parent of a depressed child, what would you do to help your kid through a depression? I've used the parenting method successfully lots of times.

I will NOT smoke today.  It is day 8 and I awoke feeling depressed.  Over what I don't know.  Just a feeling of sadness.  Maybe because I looked forward to the morning cigarette and when I smoked it gave me a feeling of satisfaction.  I went for my walk this morning but didn't feel good about myself when I returned as I did on previous days.  I know I must keep fighting, but I feel as if I'm slipping backwards now.
