DAY 9 feeling better about not smoking

for 14 år siden 0 34 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Helping others is a great way to get your mind off your own problems.  I ususally find that the issues that others are facing make mine look like child's play.  It really does help to keep everything in perspective.  Also, I would suggest that you let everyone know that you recently quit smoking.  It's kind of like a bed of nails; the more support you have, the easier it is.

Hi rubygem,

I think that volunteering would be a great idea.  Before you start to interact with people that might be smoking you should re-visit the Milestone 4.  There is a section that deal specifically with being tempted...it will outline some strategies to deal with these situations.

You sound very committed to your quit and this will really help in the long run.

Keep sharing all your successes with us.

I keep telling myself I'm no longer a smoker, but there is a little voice that keeps saying "have a smoke, you'll feel better".  I want to yell go away, but I know this is not realistic.  I will keep fighting that demon.  I have not left my house except for walking and going to the store, and now I want to get out and start getting into the public.  I've been thinking about volunteering a couple hours one day a week.  Do you think it's too soon?  I am afraid I will slip.  I WILL NOT SMOKE TODAY.

My Mileage:

My Quit Date: 7/8/2010
Smoke-Free Days: 38
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 380
Amount Saved: $69.73
