Great advice everyone!

Rubygem, try to resist the urge to smoke.

I know it is  a stressful time but occupy yourself through whatever means necessary.  Even try re-reading the online program.

Take a look at milestone 4 and the coping with stress section.

As always come back here often and vent if you need to.

Ruby,
You just went through Hell week and Heck week and now the nicodemon is trying to lure you in by wanting you to think that you can't survive your situation with your dog without a smoke.  Get him off your back by pulling out your strategy when things come up like this.  I had a friend who called me on my 14th day and ticked me off so much that I wanted one at that moment, and I had just had a beer so my judgement wasn't all that good.  I decided instead to walk around the block and look for anything I could find that was beautiful.  After 20 minutes of doing so I realized that I was giving all my power away to this friend by smoking.  I just wasn't going to do it.  You now need to do something similar to distract yourself from the stinking thoughts that are coming up for you.  Like Cristinas said you already are going through something that is not fun and giving in and going back and smoking is only just adding another problem to your life. You should be so happy you are over two weeks quit don't give that up for anything. We all went through these low points and came out on the other side. Have faith. Ron

Rubygem, so sorry to hear about your dog, but please remember that smoking won't help the situation.  Like Christinas said, N.O.P.E. needs to be your mantra today.  Is there a vet school near by that might have reduced rates?  Or can you make arrangements with a vet to help your dog?  Just please don't smoke!

N.O.P.E. needs to be your mantra now. Please don't think for a second that that pack of cigarettes will make everything better. I know it sounds empty - been in your shoes more than once. But it is true!!! All you are trying to do by smoking is numb the feelings that you will get to feel anyway. It is a tough thing to go through. Why add the feeling that you've let yourself down by starting smoking again. Fight it! You can do it. One minute at a time! Come and post. Read old posts. Write in your blog... Just don't smoke!
Keep the quit
Cristina

Help.  My dog, who is my best friend, is very sick.  I can't afford to take him to the vet and he will most likely die.  I want to smoke.  I went to the car and found a cigarette butt.  I lit it and it tasted terrible.  I am sitting here trying to decide whether I should go and buy a pack of cigarettes because I don't think I can deal with this situation without them.  I talked with ex-husband and he was no help.  There's nothing he can do being so far away. What should I do?
