I don't want smoking in my dreams or real life, period.
I'll dream good dreams; it's all in the mind.

Hi Humble,

Smoking dreams are quite common and actually are discussed often on the the SSC support group.  If you do a quick search you will find some great advice already posted here.

Some quitters have had dreams refresh their commitment, some have had them scare them into reassesing their quit plan.  How do you want to look at these dreams?

I found this at dream dictionary:  "Dreaming that you are smoking indicates that you are trying to shield yourself and others against your emotions. You have trouble letting others in."  There's that word again.  Reminds me of a poem I once read,-"Don't Be Fooled By The Mask I Wear," by anonymous.  Find it on Google.  Hope you're having a grand day where ever you are.

Hi Humble, Most all of us have had those dreams. They will fade away like all of the other symptoms and I'm sure the Health Educators will expand on it with you. I was shaken up pretty good after waking from a dream like that but eventually as I realized it was a dream and that I didn't ruin all the work I put into quitting I felt proud of myself and I got a "taste" of what it would feel like to cave in to the urges and as you know, it doen't feel very good at all.

The last time I quit I had frequent dreams of smoking.  The dreams went on for a week and smoking escalated until I was toast with my quit.  Has anyone else had that problem and if so what can you recommend if it happens to me again?
