Nicodemon never goes away

Hi Hot Mamma,
Congratulations on your first month of freedom! I hope you are rewarding yourself for your GREAT accomplishments.

Unfortunately that old Nico-Demo will stalk you the rest of your life. The good thing is that once you make up your mind to stay quit, and have learned how to say NO, you should stay nicotine free the rest of your life. And life does get better when YOU are in control instead of the nicotine.

Stay strong and keep your guard up at all times.

Don if you see the online light lit up green it doesn't mean I am logged in.  For some reason my light in staying green and says I am logged in even after I log out..Just thought I would let you and anyone else who want to know..I am logging out even if my light stays Green..I guess they just you can't keep a good girl in the dumps these days..

Its kind of like the meter thing,
A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do..
To stay quit, clean and sober..
Whatever it takes, is what it takes..

Roses  You don't have to explain yourself to anyone. A quit meter is like a golf game in the respect of the score being personal to the individual. It's your meter and you should do with it as you see fit. I hope this helps you. breather Don

Hi Clearsky,

Welcome!  I may not be the best person to ask but for me saying busy and listening to my body is the most important and when I don't do these basic things I get myself in trouble..and listen to Breather he knows what he is talking about. He taught me about H.A.L.T.  and that one thing has made me stronger..There is a thread on H.A.L.T. on the forum that explains it clearly.
Or even better yet it would be helpful to have it explained here too. I will give it a try but breather does it better.
If you feel like the urge to smoke is getting to strong remember HALT..Stop in your tracks and assess the situation: Are you feeling, Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired..I like to add a S. for stressed..Make sure you eat if hungry, get your sleep, rest if tired and take a few deep breathes if stressed..and lonely well come her and post for a while it helps..I know I have slipped before but if I had remember to say HALT and Stopped in my tracks before taking a smoke. I would never have slipped or relapsed..

Taking it One Day At a Time.
NTAP..never take another puff, dip, or chew.

Hello clearsky786  We all get triggers to have a few puffs or a cigarette. I tell myself that no matter what happens or what triggers I get that I won't smoke today under any circumstances. You've gone 40 days without a cigarette which is amazing. Excellent for you and you should be proud of yourself. I've come too far to go back being a smoker again and so have you. Rewards are helpful and adhering to N.O.P.E. , Not One Puff Ever also helps. and N.T.A.P. , Never Take Another Puff. I just don't smoke today and let tomorrow take care of itself. Yay for you for not smoking today ! breather
