Quitting & Eating

I'm hungry in the morning, so I eat a cereal bar (I used to never be hungry in the morning). The only other real change is that I crave chip and salsa at night, has to be plain tortilla chips (I don't like any other kinds of chips), and hot salsa.

As many of you are well aware, quitting smoking can cause an increase in appetite. This is because Nicotine stops hunger pains in your stomach for as long as one hour and also causes a rise in blood sugar level. When you quit, this is reversed and every little hunger pain is exaggerated.
Eating, like smoking, is also a pleasure evoking activity. When you quit smoking, you may feel the need to eat more for stimulation, relaxation, comfort or as a way to socialize.
Also, when you quit smoking, sweeter foods taste sweeter and salty foods taste better causing an increasing in overall appetite.  Remember  to keep healthy snacks on hand and lots of water to help control your appetite!

Have you noticed a change in your eating habits?  Do you eat more or less often since quitting?  What do you tend to snack on?
