Exactly since it is still not FDA approved you can try other methods which are still very effective.i personally have tried Hypnotherepy by Joseph R Giove as an effective process.
Stop-smoking hypnosis is one of the most common forms of hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapists employ various methods and tactics to put your mind into a state of total relaxation, so that it's easily influenced. They then suggest ideas and affirmations that discourage smoking. I think on sholud try out.

Thanks for posting this Working On It.

It seems the e-cigerette is all the rage now but everyone must remember that it is still not FDA approved and it has not been proven to help people quit smoking. It is best to stick with proven smoking cessation treatments - talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are interested in an NRT or medication.

To everyone,
Since the ecigarette seems to be so frequently popping up among first time posters on this board, I thought I'd cut and paste a previous response of mine on this topic:

When I was still on nicotine and working towards a full quit, the e-cigarette idea got my attention. I was thinking that maybe I could keep the habit and the nicotine without any ill effects--basically have my cake and eat it, too.

I ended up fully quitting before I got around to trying e-cigarettes out, and it's a good thing. However, I just recently read that the e-cigarettes actually do contain carcinogens and toxins like formaldehyde. Also, they produce dangerous secondhand fumes. http://www.realfarmacy.com/study-reveals-e-cigarettes-toxic/

Something else to consider is simply the addiction issue. The goal is to eventually be off all nicotine. Until I got all the nicotine out of my system, I had no idea how much freedom, peace, and pleasure I would gain. I promise you that you don't want to be stuck with any form of nicotine replacement for the long haul. Life is so much better without it.
