Hi Pappy

I think about %70 of my time at home I spend on my hobby (our extra room is my Computer room) I don't watch much TV and I don't go to the Pub as I don't drink but very happy fiddling about with Computers or just Gaming, Its my little bit of heaven and smoke free

Hi John, glad to hear things are going well for you. I pretty much did the same thing and just dove deep into hobbies that kept my mind well occupied away from my addiction. Great advice for anyone trying to kick this nasty habit.

Hi Tim

Yes I an expecting triggers to pop up, early days yet and I don't want to become complacent

SSDs are great for speed but I may be called old school as I make all my backups to an array of HDDs, I love to hear them spin up

Hey John,
WOW, a 1 terabyte solid state drive....must be nice.  I'm limping along on a 256 GB SSD OS drive. My data drive is a 1 TB hdd and is it slow!  Glad your "hobby" is taking up all your time this early into your quit. It sure sounds like you're doing great so far. Watch out for those unexpected triggers though. You never know when they'll pop up and test you. Keep your quit going.
Stay strong.

Hi John,
You are right! Keeping busy with anything at the start of a quit is good tool for you to use. The less time to think about what you are giving up the better. Especially since at the beginning of a quit, you think you are giving up a good friend that's been there for you at all times. When in actuality, you are giving up something dangerous that's literally been slowly shortening your life with each breath you inhaled. No friend at all.
Keep yourself busy John, it's working for you.
Stay strong.

I find when I'm busy I forget about smoking and outside of work my hobby is building high end gaming PCs, I also like to game, at home our extra bedroom is my Computer room and I have three gaming Computers online and they keep me quite busy so my advice (it may also work for you) is embrace your hobby/hobbies it may help on your quit smoking journey
