Hi Allison, The practioner never called back, her nurse said not to take it that perhaps the two doses are enough, I wish the regular nurse would phone back its getting late so I doubt it, I may just go ahead and take it tonight or tomm just to "get it over with" I do NOT want to go through another UTI and if I have to go back and spend more money my husband will not be pleased. I only have 1 more dose {its only a 3 day course) thanks Allison, Debbie.

As soon as you get through this I would suggest making a list of 10 things you are going to do to get mentally better. Examples would be: -go to library- get all the resources you can -exercise/healthy eating -any natural remedies- that won't interact with the paxil -journaling -the panic program on this website -joining a support group - while your son is a school possibly -seeking help from your church -taking advantage of whatever psychological help is available to you -finding some club, lessons, church youth group, whatever is possible for your son to join and be a part of. A place that he won't be burdened. It will help him with confidence, and do not burden him with any of your health issues. -do not talk to your husband about these problems, I did all the time. This is my psychologists advice to me. -plan to do fun things with your husband. Talk to him about other things. This is my advice too myself to! ;) These are all things that I do as much as possibly. One step at time Debbie. Make an action plan! Refuse to take this any longer!

I know how you feel. It's like you feel like you are unable to discern your own physical symptoms. I always wonder what's real, what I'm thinking I'm feeling. How concerned was your nurse? How are you feeling now? How many doses are left?

Allison, What a interesting article! I re-read twice, I always thought the mind control the body. I think everyone should read this, I wish I had read it a long time ago. I posted you before, I may just break down and take the darn last pill tonight, I do NOT want to go back to square one like you said. The other nurse said somtimes only 2 days kills the infection, but with my luck.....Maybe I will take it later tonight. I doubt the regular nurse-practioner is going to phone back she leaves for vacation tomm and I am probably the last thing on her mind, the headache has eased a little, this darn tingling is driving me crazy, I never get that even when I have a panic attack, it has got to be med related. Hope to hear from you soon. God bless, debbie.

If you read my post- "The irony of hypocrondria, creating what you fear" this is what I meant; I found this in the Merck Manual: "The mind and body interact in powerful ways that affect a person's health. The digestive system is profoundly controlled by the mind (brain); anxiety, depression, and fear dramatically affect the function of this system. Social and psychologic stress can trigger or aggravate a wide variety of diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, and possibly multiple sclerosis. However, the relative importance of psychologic factors varies widely among different people with the same disorder. Most people, on the basis of either intuition or personal experience, believe that emotional stress can precipitate or alter the course of even major physical diseases. How these stressors do this is not clear. Emotions obviously can affect certain body functions, such as heart rate, blood pressure, sweating, sleep patterns, stomach acid secretion, and bowel movements, but other relationships are less obvious. For example, the pathways and mechanisms by which the brain and immune system interact are only beginning to be identified. It is remarkable that the mind (brain) can alter the activity of white blood cells and thus an immune response, because white blood cells travel through the body in blood or lymph vessels and are not attached to nerves. Nevertheless, research has shown that the brain does communicate with the white blood cells. For example, depression may suppress the immune system, making a depressed person more susceptible to infections, such as those by the viruses that cause the common cold. Stress can cause physical symptoms even though no physical disease may be present, because the body responds physiologically to emotional stress. For example, stress can cause anxiety, which then triggers the autonomic nervous system and hormones such as epinephrineSome Trade Names ADRENALIN to speed up the heart rate and to increase the blood pressure and the amount of sweating. Stress can also cause muscle tension, leading to pain in the neck, back, head, or elsewhere. The mind-body interaction is a two-way street. Not only can psychologic factors contribute to the onset or aggravation of a wide variety of physical disord
