Relaxing Nighttime Non-Alcoholic Drinks

I also use sleepytime tea. I find mindfulness meditation helpful. It's actually "supposed" to be done when you can be aware, not sleepy, but I find it calms the mind by bringing focus, and thus usually helps me sleep better. I use Tara Brach's audio talks (you can find them on her website by googling her name). Other than that... warm milk? haha, I don't usually use it but I know it apparently has calming properties.

Thank you everyone!!

Fran, I forgot about EFT, that is a wonderful technique, I tried it awhile back and it made me feel really good. I'm going to re-watch the Tapping videos right now and try that tonight.

I also got a box of Sleepytime tea and drank that before bed, seemed to help some, still couldn't get to sleep until about 2am though. I also ate too much chocolate yesterday, that might have had something to do with it. lol

Hi Cypress,

What a great topic!

In addition or instead of relaxing drinks you could also try relaxation techniques. Meditation, yoga, progressive muscle relaxation and box breathing are all good techniques to use throughout the day and before bed.

Hi again,
Emotional Freedom Technique EFT , has helped me out at night when I was very high strung. Also getting on my vibrational plate for 10 minutes. Good luck to you.

I drink an herbal tea blend called "Easy Now".   It's made by a company called Traditional Medicinals.   I can usually find it in major grocery stores, and just about every health food store stocks it.

Hi all.

So, I tend to drink wine at night to relax me and help me sleep. Due to wacked-out cortisol levels (hormone produced by the adrenal glands) I'm usually a bit wound-up at night. I'm dealing with healing my adrenals separately, but just wanted to know if anyone else who gets amped-up at night has any natural and healthy beverages they use to relax. Or even not just beverages... any sort of technique!

Thanks.
