Sorry to hear you are feeling this way. It does sound like what you are experiencing is withdrawal. If you are concerned at all with your symptoms or you start experiencing shaking it is a good idea to go see a doctor. You can also read the Education section here for more info on withdrawal symptoms. They are temporary. Be easy on yourself now and rest when you need to.

Have you had a chance to get started on the program? There is a lot of information there that can help prepare you. Also, do a keyword search through the forums for discussions that pertain to you.
This is my 1st time involved with a support group so thought I'd make the most of it by asking some questions and getting some tips.
Just given up alcohol (done this before but not for a while) and only the 3rd day without......having trouble sleeping (restless, deisturbed sleep, vivid dreams, sweats, etc.) - have had this before.....but wondering if there's a timeline on how soon i should expect this to settle down.....
Also - a bit dizzy today and headache too by the end of the working day - feeling better now I've sat down, but think it's related. Anyone else had this experience?
Am seeing a counsellor who is very helpful but not a specific D&A counsellor - wating to know more about the physical side effectsof quitting and ideas for speeding up pysical recovery (I already exercise regularly)....
