I love that book - "In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts" You are so right Gabor Mate does have some great insights.
I find it interesting how he said individuals are more prone to alcoholism if they have attachment issues or are lonely. This idea really forces us to look at addiction with compassion instead of judgement. If only more people read his work!
