Hi Timbo,
I saw this post and had to congratulate you. Congratulations! Seven years is an amazing accomplishment. Not only have you achieved this for yourself; but, you have also helped so many other people by sharing your journey with us. The support you continue to give to members here always puts a smile on my face. We are so lucky to have you here. Thank you for stopping by as often as you do. It is much appreciated.
I hope you were able to fully be present and enjoy your no smoking success. You deserve it.
Gratefully,
Ashley
That was a good idea you quit on a Thursday! I think I quit on a Monday...but I can't remember exactly. I just know it was hell and I am so glad I don't have that terrible addiction anymore. Yay us. Thanks for sharing.
I haven't seen your post yet but I will check again.
Thanks!
Pumpkinss

Thanks Pumpkinss. I was busy over the weekend too. Since I quit smoking, time just seems to fly by always being busy doing something.
Curious, what made you quit on Halloween 7 years ago? Halloween fell on a Thursday 7 years ago. I thought by ending the workweek with only 1 day left to work, I might be able to use the last day of the week as a "trial run" to see if I could actually do it. I'll bump up my quit journey I posted in the forum for new users for you to read.
Stay strong....and now a days, stay SAFE too!

Sorry I missed this. It was a busy weekend. Curious, what made you quit on Halloween 7 years ago?
Learning from your mistakes is key. If only I could quit all my vices like I was able to quit smoking. haha :(
I wish you the best too!

Tomorrow, 10/31/20, I will have been smoke free for 7 years. I'm going to be busy tomorrow so I wanted to post this today. I can't believe how fast time is flying by too. The 1st week went by rather slowly, but as days passed, and the will power increased, the days started to go by quicker. And here I am 7 years later. ?
I really thought that it was going to be harder than it actually was. For me it wasn't too bad though. I tried to learn all I could about what to expect, and then tried to plan for the unexpected.
You can do this too. Learn all you can, make a plan, prepare yourself and then go for it. Set a date and stick with it. If you do happen to slip, get right back on your quit journey and don't beat yourself up over it. It does happen most of the time, but we LEARN from our mistakes.
I wish you the best to those of you thinking about quitting.
And to those of you that HAVE quit, CONGRATULAIONS and stay on your journey of freedom from this nasty deadly addiction!
