Anyone had anemia?

I'm glad I've been able to help you Bredan! :) The one thing that makes me think all these years of suffering has meant something is being able to help others who suffer the same. I don't know how much I help, sometimes I feel awfully preachy, so it makes me happy when someone mentions that I helped him / her through a bad moment. I appreciate your support also!! I've had this for 12 or 13 years now and finding this website and all the caring people here that understand exactly how I feel every day has helped me enormously!!

Hi vickers, Sorry to hear that you are feeling this way right now. Please try to hang in there. 3 months can seem like a long time, but hopefully this supplement will make a difference for you. Casey __________________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

Hi Vickers I just wanted to let you know that the advice you have given to others on this website has really helped me with my MANY setbacks due to my anxiety. The dizziness you are having is a symptom of anemia and the anxiety is magnifying it(as those of us with anxiety are sooo sensitive)You'll feel better soon!

Thanks Ashleigh! I have noticed brief moments of relief some days. I just have been feeling so crappy for three or four months now and I am so tired of it already!! It's so hard to be sick when you're panicky because it makes the anxiety so much worse! I'm glad to hear it took you a few months of being on the iron before you really noticed a difference though. That gives me hope - thanks! I have a follow up appointment with my doctor in June. She wants me to take the iron for three months and then have my blood tested again to see how it is taking effect. I keep telling myself to just hang on and keep going. It's very mentally tiring. I'm sure you know what I mean. Thanks for the response!

Hi Vickers - I have been diagnosed with amenia before and also had to take an iron suppliment. I was probably on the iron for about a year and a half, but only after a few months did I notice changes in my body. I had more energy, more sleep, less tired, more colour in my skin, and all in all I felt great. Now the dizziness, I didn't experience that before, however as of recently I am starting to think that the anemia is back and have had many headaches and have been tons dizzy. Maybe that is a syptom and when I go to my doctors next week I will have it checked. But again, anemia is very common, especially in women due to the loss of blood each month. It is easily treated. Perhaps you should speak with your doctor to get more facts to ease your mind. I hope that this helped you.

I was diagnosed with mild anemia last month. My doctor has me taking iron supplements, which I have been taking for three weeks now. I am sleeping tons better and my headaches are gone. But, I still can't seem to shake the dizzy spells. Does anyone know how long it takes for the iron to take away the dizzy spells? The dizzy spells mostly feel like a shifting in my head when I'm sitting. Like something in my skull is jumping or something. Sometimes it's a buzzy feeling. Sometimes, it's just like a pressure in my temples. Sometimes it feels like my head is swimming. I don't get the spinning feeling they always relate to dizzy spells though. The panic keeps making me think it's something more than the anemia and I'm starting to get depressed. I wake up every morning thinking, here we go again. I'm so tired of feeling like this!! I find that I keep eating more because I feel like maybe it's a blood sugar thing. Sometimes eating helps, but not always. I also think the panic is making it worse and happen more often because it's like I keep waiting for it to happen so I tend to be on alert for it. It seems to be happening more often and getting worse. Do you think it's the anxiety causing that? Like I'm paying too much attention to it? Has anyone dealt with anemia and taken iron pills for it? How long did it take you to stop being dizzy, weak and tired? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
