Hi Tammy,
Alcohol and the effect on anxiety symptoms has been a very popular topic here in the past. I will try to post links to 2 of these threads, you can also do a search through the discussion forums for more on this topic. (If the direct links do not open correctly, you can copy and paste into the address bar.)

If anyone has any concerns about alcohol use and would like more information, we have a new sister site located at www.alcoholhelpcenter.net
that you may find helpful.

Hi! I am actually afraid to drink alcohol. I usually avoid it because when i drink it, i feel the anxiety symptoms right away such as fast heart beat, smothering feelings, breathing problems etc. As much as i want to tryyyyyyyy and have a nice drink with friends/family, i always seem to avoid it. I wish i just stop being afraid of these symptoms.
Same deal here.
I like to drink alittle, but you have to know when to quit. For me it's usually only one drink, maybe twice a week. If I go to a party I don't take my clonazepam that day, but still limit myself to 3 drinks. If I have a hang over at all I feel seriously depressed and anxious the next day. It's not worth it to me anymore.
FIXING
I have had a good couple of weeks but this weekend I had several beers too many. This morning I felt like crap and had anxiety so bad I had to leave work. It was a big disappointment for me. I enjoy drinking but I guess I will have to give it up. What an awful day it has been.
Anyone else drink?
