Tingling/Numbness on scalp

Hi Vickivdb, Everybody is different. Some people will experience the full range of symptoms associated with panic disorder, some may not. Your panic attacks may not be strong enough to trigger the "fight or flight" response that tells your heart to start beating faster. Again, just as Josie said it's all about working through the program and taking back control over your body and your mind. Also, keep working with your doctor and return to see him if your symptoms worsen or if you experience a rapid heart rate. Danielle __________________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

My anxiety seems to be very general. Most days I'm just on edge. Difficulty taking a deep breath, nervous feeling in my stomach most of the day, tight chest...tired, feel a bit shaken all the time. Then every once in a while I have a bit of an attack...rush of fear, chest pains...everything. The only thing I have yet to have it a rapid heartbeat...which my doctor finds a little odd, but not too concerning. He's asked me to take my pulse when I have an attack. It actually helps me because I feel my neck and think...huh, normal heartrate. Must just be other reactions to something. The worst has definitly been this constant tingle. It's been almost a week since it started. There are times when it seems to disappear, but I think maybe I just stopped noticing it so much. You?

hi vicki, it normally lasts for about three to four days i usually have this about once a month.at first it freaked me out but now i guess i have got used to it.i think it must just be my nerve endings that are over sensetized,i really dont think its any thing to worry about its like all the other symptoms some we can cope with and other really scares us.iam sure through time you will also take this in your stride, what other symptoms do you get.

lynnp - when this happens to you, how long does it last? It was happening once in a while for a few hours, then not again for weeks...but this last bout of it has been on and off for about 5 days now. It comes and goes, and moves around a little. Sometimes it's just so strong I want to scratch and itch, and other times it's so faint I end up double checking to see if it's there, and of course....it comes back. There I go looking for symptoms right? I understand all that I'm supposed to do...I just can't seem to control myself...YET! Anyone else?

Vicki and Lynn, It is great to see you working with your doctor. Continue on with the program to challenge your anxiety. The Panic Program is not talk therapy. Its not about medications either. Its a treatment program thats all about getting you actively involved in your own improvement. It teaches you things you may not understand about panic and agoraphobia, your own panic, your own panic cycle, and as you learn and get involved, you begin the journey and the process of taking back control from a fear that at the moment is controlling you. Hope this helps, Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

Ok, this is new...well, it is and it isn't. A few times over the last few months I have noticed a tingling sensation on my scalp...like my head "fell asleep". Normally it was gone as quickly as it showed up. NOW...it's been here for 5 days straight, on and off. Of course there are times when I'm not noticing it, but it's there. I spoke with my doctor and he felt it was just the nerve endings in my brain...as a result of the anxiety...but I'm not convinced. Here is my "fear goggles" emotion. He's told me what it is, I don't believe him. Anyone else have this sensation? Cuz I guess I'd feel better if I knew it was common. I tried to look it up online but just got a bunch of scary stuff...so I thought I'd check with you folks. Thanks.
