Thanks so much for the advice, i've been doing meditation exercises but i often find that i don't know what to think about, or what to vizualize mostly i just try "talking to myself" in my head focusing really hard with using my concious and not letting my emotions control my thinking... thanks alot for the awesome advice i really appreciate the support and I will give it my best shot.

Hi cakes! I hope your feeling better! In the morning, i tend to have major negative thoughts. Its like i cannot start my day without thinking "oh gosh, here we go again," or "I wonder how stressed i will be today from my anxiety." Its really hard to deal with these thouhts. Its hard to shut them off. And then i just get in a depressed mood cause i'm so negative and the day hasn't even begun yet. It will definately take some practice to challenge these silly thoughts. Cause just think of it this way....This new day is in YOUR HANDS.....you can control it!! U can be whoever you want! I suggest you meditate a bit when you are in your bed when u wake up. When you wake up, try not to get out of bed in such a hurry and rush through the day. If you have the time, just wake up, and lay in your bed for a few minutes. Just close your eyes (try not to sleep again hehe) and just visualize yourself having a wonderful day. Imagine yourself getting out of bed in the best mood ever. Imagine having an anxiety free day with no negative thoughts! Imagine doing everythin that you wanted to do without being afraid of having anxiety. Feel free and wonderful. Then open your eyes and get on with your day! Keep thinking of that wonderful feeling you had when you imagined yourself anxiety free! It truly helps to work towards that goal. One day you will be that YOU! I hope i helped. I truly believe that visualizations do have a postive affect on our lives!! let me know what u think! ;)

Brain, Thanks for sharing. You need to start challenging these thoughts and feelings. Our members can help you through and share with you some of their experiences. There are different types of therapy out there. Some therapies involve talking about the past in an attempt to understand the problem and develop some strategies for coping, etc. The Panic Program is not talk therapy. Its not about medications either. Its a treatment program thats all about getting you actively involved in your own improvement. It teaches you things you may not understand about panic and agoraphobia, your own panic, your own panic cycle, and as you learn and get involved, you begin the journey and the process of taking back control from a fear that at the moment is controlling you. Doesn't that idea of getting back control sound wonderful? But maybe this idea of doing scares you and you avoid it for that reason. Ive had emails from people who say this too. Well its not about someone telling you to smarten up or just get with it at all. Its a guide, a silent teacher, and a whole program. Its like going to a school that offers a course in your very own fears and how to beat your very own fears down. It works this way: The Program guides you through the process of getting back this control. It prepares you for this, one single step at a time, and gives you some homework to bring you along from session 1 to session 2, and onward, in a series of 12 sessions over a period of twelve weeks. Hope this helps, Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

waking up with anxiety isn't something that is a rare occurance to me and i'm wondering if anyone ealse goes through the same thing. I'm fine falling asleep becasue the anxiety usually makes me fall asleep easier,it makes me shut down with fear and i end up passing out fairly easily, but the hardest thing is waking up with anxiety, i'll wake up in the morning and start the day of with some very high levels of anxiety, not a panic attack but a very tight chest and a nausiating feeling, i spend about ten min in the shower trying to clear my throughts and calm myself down, and it works until i'm done eating my breakfast, but then the thoughts just slowly creep back into my head, i'm only in the second week of this program, i'm slowly starting to learn my panic cycle and what thoughts i have anxiety about, but it's so difficult to even get a grip on or an upper hand on my anxiety when i have to deal with it right from the moment i wake up. i'm fortunate now because the anxiety i feel in the morning is not as bad as it was a few months ago. There was a week where i woke up everymorning and had a full out panic attack to the point where i'd have to medidate for an hour just to coax myself out of going back to bed for the day. if anyone ealse goes through this just some moral support is great. for some reason it's comforting to know that i'm not the only one going through these issues and that there are almost a hundred other people on this website who struggle and work through their anxiety the same way as me. Thanks for reading that book...lol Brian
