Does Anyone Remember Me?

Debbie, I have heard nothing but good things about Lexapro. I know several people that have taken it, all with good results. It seems to be one of the few that have minimal side effects. My daughter took it and done great. My sister law took it for a while and she was up jogging at 5 in the morning, you would have to know her to think this medicine must work wonders. If I have to change medications, I am going to ask for Lexapro. Right now I take Paxil and Zyprexa. I had to take the Zyprexa because my anxiety was so high and paxil has a tendancy to increase it even more in the beginning. But the combination has helped me tremendously. I was afraid also to take a new medication. What helped me is just to start with a small dose and increase it gradually. I have also taken Klonopin which really helped me sleep good at night. Let us know how you are doing. I think you will really like the Lexapro. Becky

Thank you all for your encouragement and support it means so much to me. I am going to start Lexapro in a few days along with Klonopin and I am very scared! I tried increasing the Zoloft but it made me so very sick. The last few days I have been very depressed the panics have seemed to have decreased, its like more depression now and that is worrying. Its almost like the depression is worse than the anxiety, through they are both very bad. I have to recover to take care of my son. I so appreciate all your kind words and prayers, if anyone knows about Lexapro please let me know. Thank you and GOd bless you all, Debbie.

Congratulations Debbie! It's great that you got past most of your fear and worry! You will do it again. I think most people when they get sick get the fear I worry. I smoke also and recently went to the hospital and while I was there I insisted on a lung exray and even though it showed nothing, I still worry. I think that it's normal for people who suffer from anxiety to worry about their body symptoms. You have come a long way and you should be so proud of yourself for not letting this disorder control your life. I had a relapse a few months back and was forced into taking medication, and I am scared to death of medication, but I couldn't keep living like I was. I was in fear all day, every day. Day 2 on the medication I felt better, my fear was coming from all these irrational thoughts that I was having. Although you had a relapse, you are a strong person. I admire how well you have done and know that you will continue to do. I had bronchitus a couple years ago and it took about 3 months for the cough to completely go away. I understand your worry with lung cancer, that is a big worry for me, but, you had an ex-ray and it was normal, which is great. I hope to hear from you again. Stay strong and take care of yourself. Debbi, Good job on getting to your appointment! I know it wasn't easy but you did it! You're making progress! Members, Knowledge is power. When prescribed a new medication, ask questions. Ask about potential side effects, what you should do if you experience these side effects and voice any other concerns. Feeling informed may help you overcome any fears you may have with starting a new medication. Danielle ________________________ The PC Support Team

Hey girls I read your posts and I just wanted to share something with you. I don't take Lexapro but my friend does and she likes it. She does not have any side effects at all. As a matter of fact I was thinking of switching to that med because she said it worked well for her panic and she had no side effects. She also takes Klonipin she likes that too. It's so hard to start the meds because it's something you've never had before. I hope you both have success with it.

Debbi, I am the exact same way!! My doctor prescribed lexapro last week for me and I still haven't taken it because I am so scared of an allergic reaction or the bad side effects because I too am sensitive to medicines. If and when you take it, let me know how it goes. I may get the courage to take it from your experience (LOL)! I have to go to class 5 days a week and take care of a 1 year old so I don't want to take something that will make me feel weird. Let me know how it goes and good luck!

The appt went alright, thank you, of course I cried and panicked for hours before but managed to pull it together to go. The nurse changed my Zoloft to Lexapro and I am terrified to start it! When I increased my Zoloft the side effects were awful, if anyone takes Lexapro with Klonopin or anything else please post me back. I am very med-sensitive and I get scared of death or a bad reaction to new meds, I have to find the courage to do this somehow someway. Also all this is "out of pocket" insurance will not cover it so the guilt of the money we do not have is causing anxiety too, does that make sense? Thank you all for your prayers and support. God bless, Debbie.

Debbie, I am new to the panic center but I can sympathize with you greatly. I especially know what it is like to live in fear and anxiety. I also know that it is no way to live. You will get through your appointment tomorrow and you will get better. It just takes time and we all relapse every now and then we just can't let it take over. Easier said than done, I know, but I have faith that you can do it. Let us know how it goes. And nice to me you ;)

Thank you everyone your words support and prayers mean so much to me. I managed last night to go out to dinner with my family for my son's early birthday dinner, it seems at night, when the sun goes down I am better for some strange reason. Tomm I have an appt with a woman to talk about new meds, lately the Zoloft has not been working and when I tried to increase the dosage I got very very ill, severe dizziness and nausea, which on top of the panic and sadness was not good at all. I am very very nervous about my appt tomm, its during the day and I hope I am able to go without falling apart. I think this all started again with the physical problems and led to the emotional, I have to get it out of my mind that I am old, sick weak and dying!! I am really fighting this and I hope I can come through, its very very hard to live everyday scared and nervous. I hope you are all doing well. You have all been so good to me and I am so grateful. God bless you all, Debbi
