Tension

I'll let you know how the medicine does. Too early to tell right now but I am hopeful that it will help me get better. It was my last resort so this has to help :). I have heard that accupuncture works well to reduce stress, tension, and anxiety as well so I might give it a try. In any case it would be stress-relieving and I could always use that. Keep me updated and I'll let you know if I get any better, which I definitely will!! Stay positive.

Slinky Thanks for sharing your experience on acupuncture with us. If your symptoms worsen or new symptoms accompany it, seek medical attention. Glad to hear you're feeling a little better today. Danielle _______________________ The PC Support Team

Well its Sunday night and I went for the acupuncture yesterday. I'm obviousley going to need some more sessions of it, but I do feel better about things, whether that is the acupuncture working or not I'm not sure yet! I felt the best I had in ages this morning, as the day has gone on though I have got an overwhelming feeling of falling to the right which I'm sure is like a posture problem but nothing I do seems to correct, I'm just trying not to let it get to me, it does scare me though because I think something is wrong with my brain somewhere which causes it. I'm going to stick with the acupuncture for a while though because I don't really know what else to do! I hate feeling like this. Keep me posted on how you do on the medication though because like you I have a pretty healthy lifestyle and am gettinga bit desperate!

Slinky, Thanks for checking in. As you can see you're not alone! Perhaps learning some relaxation exercises such as deep breathing, yoga or meditation would be helpful to you? Danielle ________________________ The PC Support Team

I am starting lexapro for my anxiety. I am just starting so I can't tell you whether it works or not. As far as taking things, I am not keen on taking things either. I was prescribed the lexapro 3 weeks ago but was too scared to take it because of side effects and what not. It has taken me 3 weeks to work up to it and take it so I know exactly what you mean. I finally decided to do it because I am no longer the person I used to be and the longer I wait the worse I get. It is not for everyone and I have been a firm believer of doing things naturally but I have come to the point where I believe it may be a chemical thing and out of my control. You see, I take vitamins, I see a psychologist, I get exercise chasing around a one year old, I am doing this program, keeping a journal, and trying to be positive. I eat healthy and live a very healthy lifestyle but that doesn't seem to be enough. I have truly given this all that I have in trying to get rid of my anxiety. I finally decided I needed to give the medicine a try. I am hoping the medicine can help me even further and that I will be able to get off of them within one year. Let me know how the accupuncture goes. I am willing to give that a shot too ;). Stay strong and good luck with everything.

Thanks for your reply, its nice not to be alone!!I'm not taking anything for my anxiety, do you? I am in England and as far as my experience goes Doctors aren't keen on giving medication for it, the only thing I was ever offered was Betablockers which would just slow my heart beat down so I wouldn't have an actual panic attack, but as I just have general anxiety now they wouldn't really help much. Also I'm not sure I would be keen on taking anything because I get anxious about taking medication as I don't always trust whats in it and I scare myself by reading the possible side effects!! I am going for acupuncture on Saturday though and I'm hoping that might a step forward.

I can definitely relate. I do the exact same thing and often feel as though I am rocking back and forth or swaying. It happens when standing as well as when I am sitting. It bothers me more when I am sitting because I feel as though I am going to fall over, but I never actually do. So hang in there because you are not alone. It is just another way our anxiety releases itself I guess. I am happy you posted that question because I felt like I was the only one and I didn't know exactly what it was. It makes sense though because I am chronically tense because of my constant anxiety. Are you taking anything for your anxiety? Keep me posted

Hi, Ive suffered from anxiety for the last three years and have used this website off and on and got some really good advice. I don't have actualpanic attacks anymore but whay I hve now I think is probably worse. I just suffer from anxiety all the time, I seem to have replaced panic attacks with overwhelming feelings of falling over so much so that I hold my body so stiff I get really bad pains in the muscles under my ribs, ( I have been to the Doctor about this and he reassured me this was just exreme tension.) I just wanted to ask if anybody holds thereself so stiff and tight that when they try to relax they find their body slowly rocking side to side or back and forth, not enough to fall over or anything but enough to notice it, I know its a weird thing I just wanted to know if anybody can relate? Thanks.
