It might be the case that your brain is misinterpreting the physical sensations that come from exercise. Your heart and breathing rates change, with swimming your skin's temperature changes, and exerting your muscles brings other sensations. Your brain might be feeling these things and say to itself "oh no! I must be about to pass out!" Then you go into that cycle where your mind and physical sensations both make eachother worse. That's pretty much what happens to me every time I have a panic attack.
Maybe while you sitting and waiting your thoughts start racing therefore triggering a panic attack. Instead of just sitting and waiting on your husband at the pool go up to where he is Im assuming the gym. Walk the tread mill on slow speed or just sit and watch him work out . boost his ego alittle lol...anyway this might help.
JO,
Have you checked with your doctor? They can help rule out anything medical and get you back on track. Swimming is a great exercise technique, thanks for sharing.

Hi Everyone, my Husband and I joined our local gym that just opened about 4 months ago, I only really use the pool, heres the thing I try to swim 3 or 4 times a week usually doing 40 lengths each time, I am very sluggish lately and only manage to do half that probably as we did not go over Christmas and New Year but even if I only do 20 lengths I alwasys get out of the pool sit and wait for my Husband and my legs and arms are shaking big time which then starts me feeling not with it then faint, why is this I thought maybe it is cause you are using the muscles but if I go regular then you would expect for this to not happen nobody else gets it that I know. Now every time I go I am concerned as I know it is going to happen and it puts you of wanting to go.
