Hi I am constantly tired and have also had lots of tests and there is nothing wrong with me! I have done depression tests and am not particularly depressed either!!! Being anxious takes a hell of a lot of energy, add life to that.... work, kids, partners, etc and there is bound to be little left if anything. Do not get caught up in the depression thing, it is only something else to worry about. Are you eating healthy food, getting enough exercise and fresh air, is your work stressful, do you have fun with your kids? I could go on but when I started to look at each individual item in my life, I found that not all was as I thought. For example.... being with my kids was a chore, I was eating loads of chocolate, not doing much in my spare time, etc. All these things will make you tired so look at the whole picture if you can. Not sure if this helps or not......

Hello again! Isabella, this is perfectly normal to have no energy.And as Diva said, I am more than sure its NOT depression. Anxiety, panic, and constant worrying can really drain a person. We do not have to be doing physical exercise/movements to get tired.......our mind can make us even more tired than you can imagine. The racing thoughts and worries, the anxiety and tension we put on ourselves can really wear us out....its true! So dont be so hard on yourself. I would suggest taking vitamens everyday. I take a multi-vitamen everyday! You should look into that! You may be lacking some vitamens, or iron...it can help to energize you a bit. also, do you drink a lot of caffeine in the day? I know its a fact that caffeine makes people hyper......but caffeine is also not good for you (if you drink lots). The reason being is that it really give you energy when you drink it, but then it makes you even more tired later on (once that caffeine stops working). This is what i heard from many people (also from herbalists). so maybe you can cut back on lots of coffee or chocolate! I actually feel that caffeine drains me out........thats why i stopped it. Anyhow, let me know what you think. But dont worry, i'm pretty sure its from all this anxiety we put our selves through! ;)

Hi, Just want to say that it makes me feel so much better reading these posts. I have suffered from a lot of these symptoms for a long time but never really admitted to myself that it was a problem. I too have periods of feeling constantly de-energised and tired but I have also realised that the constant worrying, thinking, analysing, considering so much takes a lot of energy and effort. I found having a creative output really helps. A lot of famous writers, poets, musicians, artists etc have had similar problems, I found that focusing all that energy on some passion can really help. I never thought I could draw or make music or write but slowly I just tried and begun to really enjoy all of these things. I think it's expressing transferring my emotions in a constructive way that really helped me, I realised that it didn't matter that 'i can't draw' (my old way of thinking) it was about expressing myself in whatever way. Anyway thanks.

Diva, That makes sense since we are exerting so much energy, whether it be physical, like muscle tension, or mental, like worrying all day, that we are naturally more tired than normal. But even on days when I feel my anxiety is at its lowest, I find it hard to have the energy to do things, although I make myself do them anyways. Well..thanks for replying. 1- Thanks Casey it is always great to have more ressources 2- Isabella: It is good that you checked it out with your doctor first. But if there is no physical reason for it i still think it is normal and NOT depression.I often feel very tired and out of energy and that is not just when i was depressed. Even at times when i was not depressed at all i had no energy. I think it comes from being so tense and anxious all the time. I think worrying and being scared takes a lot out of you and makes you tired all the time. I know the more anxious i am the more tired i am. anyway, i hope this helps. I am no expert but i do share that experience with you. Hang in there! -Diva

I have a question for you guys, I never really feel like totally depressed or in despair, I mean I have my moments but nothing to where I am constantly crying or suicidal. What I am wondering is why I have no energy ever! I feel tired when I wake up, tired all day long, tired in the eveing, etc. Could this be a part of depression? I have been tested for all kinds of things and my labs always come back normal but I never have energy, NEVER!! I even sleep in on weekends when my fiance is off of work and I still get up tired and I go to sleep at a regular hour every day, I don't drink caffeine or even eat chocolate, I have a balanced diet and I eat breakfast, so what is up with that? I even try to get exercise throughout the day by running around with my son, parking in the back of the parking lot at school, etc. Just wondering if anyone else can relate to this total lack of energy and if depression could be the culprit or is it just the anxiety zapping my energy? Wowww,that is a great strategy. I would never think of anything like that. And it is a wonderful idea Diva. Dont ever feel like your saying something silly. Actually, now that i think about it, when i do have happy moments, I think i assosciate that moment with a certain color, substance, or even smell. I do it but i dont realize that im doing it. The reason that i remembered this now is because i'm so sensitive to smell. I had a bottle of perfume that i used to wear long time ago. I picked it up and smelt the perfume......let me tell you, IT BROUGHT BACK THE BEST MEMORIES. I remember i used to wear that perfume when i first met my fiance....i remember every happy moment and laughter that we shared together...it felt amazing!! I put the bottle down and i was in thebest mood after that. Its wierd eh? A smell can take me back even when i was a little girl..its amazing. And yes, i will associate my happy moments to a substance such as the flower you described. I think visuals are an excellent way to speed up the healing process. thank Diva for that wonderful suggestion!
