Forced breathing

for 17 år siden 0 14 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I haven't completely gotten over this but it doesn't effect me nearly as much. When it happens I just challenge my thoughts and keep reminding myself that I won't stop breathing. I know I won't because I spent my whole life breathing automatically and I never had a problem unless I was having a panic attack. just thought I'd share that for anybody cruising the forum going through a similar situation.

I too can totallyyyyyyyyy relate. I deal with this literally EVERDAY. This is my number one problem now.....forced breathing. I get so tired that my left arm starts hurting from how irregular my breathing is getting. My chest also gets so heavy...and i just get angry for the way i'm feeling. its a struggle for me....i hope its over soon.......this has been wiht me for a long time. Dont worry, it will pass.

I can totally relate. I haven't had this happen since I started the program, so I haven't had the chance to try out any of the challenging or coping or exposure tools on it. However, I can tell you that it will go away soon if you're anything like me. I would eventually get so exhausted by it that I just didn't have the energy to worry about it or obsess over it anymore. Hopefully, though, you'll be able to address the problem more quickly and in a much healthier way by using the suggestions posted above!!! My point is just that you shouldn't worry that the rest of your life is going to be like this. Peace will return.

Hiya B ezerk, did you start the program here? It is really great and could help you deal with all this :) also, I agree that distracting yourself with fun relaxing activity really does help lol. anyway, sorry i cannot be more helpful. But remember, this too shall pass!

Berserk777777, Time to employ your strategies and put them to work! Employ distractions to change your focus. Relaxing activities coupled with your thought challenging exercises may also help. Hang in there! Danielle _______________________ The PC Support Team

I can't stop forcing myself to breath, I can't convince myself that breathing is automatic. I know that it is but it won't register in my mind. Everytime I think about anything else for even a few moments it comes right back to the breathing. I've experienced constant anxiety for 5 days straight. It usually happens during a panic attack but it typically fades away with the attack. Does anybody else have this problem? Is this a product of the fear or is the fear a product of the thoughts? Also what kind of exposure work can I do to solve this specific problem? I appreciate any feedback.
