I did it, I went to the doctors, spoke to her about my concerns, asked all my questions, my doctor was great!! She explained everthing. I am afraid of outcome and trusting her that things will be ok. Basically it is the trust issue, I have that with a lot of issues. But I came out of the appointment, took a big deep breath and did the self talk thing....and it worked. I was a little anxious this morning, falling back into the trap, but again, big breath and started my day. Doing ok now. I just have to learn to trust all over again, it's hard, but I guess this will take time. Thank you for your help...I do very much appreciate your support.

Hiya Mary, i just saw your post. Don't know if you have had your appointment yet. I think we all do that work ourselves up about going to see doctors, psychiatrists, dentists... We have a way of imagining the worse. We all have our reasons. Some of us are afraid we will get bad news, some of us are just plain afraid to go, some of us are just afraid the doctor will miss something... Hang in there and I know you can do this! Mary, Are you scared of her missing something? Of going to the appointment itself? Other? Do keep up with your thought challenging exercises and try visualization or relaxation techniques. Those may also be helpful to you. Danielle ____________________ The PC Support Team

Ok, I have to go to a doctor's appointment (one that I scheduled) to speak to my doctor about an issue (which I thought was being proactive about), but of course, away I go with my anxiety starting to creep up. Doing the self-talk thing, it seems to be working, but of course I'll get there, say what I need to say and listen to her and then I'll leave and think, "maybe she wasn't telling me everything". This is one of my major anxiety issues...But, I'll still do the self talk and hopefully leave there telling myself to leave it alone, she knows what she's doing and go from there. Boy, if only my van walls could talk...lots of self talk going on lol...I guess I just needed to vent. This appointment, I made to question a few things, but why do I get all wound up about it? I'll let you know...
