I agree with Josie thought challengin should really help with this. Also try visulaizing your trip going well in your head. I find visualisation to be a good tool that was frequently recommended to me by the people on this forum and I find positive visualisation has really helped me. Finally i suggest you start the CBT program here since the first few session tell you how to go about challenging your thoughts and could be really helpful in my opinion. Anyway, keep us posted on your progress!

Hello,
I am planning on going to Cincinatti to visit my parents the last week of July. It is about a 13 hour drive. My husband will be going with me. It's been awhile since I've been on a long road trip. I frequently feel panicky when driving on the freeways around the big city I live in. I was planning on going to Cincinatti in April, but chickened out. I really don't want to let my parents down again, and I want to do this for me also. Are there any techniques I can use, or anything that I can do beforehand to prepare myself for this trip and be able to cope if I should get panicky?
Thanks, Michelle
