Isabella, Please consult your pharmacist regarding the dose and what time you should take it as your prescription may not be the same as others. Danielle _____________________ The PC Support Team

Diva, Thank you so much for your response. I feel so much better about taking the nexium now. Do you take yours in the morning or evening? I am starting it tomorrow for sure! I really need it right now. Thanks for your great advice!! ~Isabella~

Hiya Isabella, Sorry for the late response! First I would like to say that I am sure you will be just fine for the endoscopy, I have not has one done myself but my step-dad has and he said it wasn't so bad at all. I am sure you will do just great. As for GERD whatever that means, if it has to do with acid reflux, Nexium will be great to help it. I am often dealing with really bad acid reflux problems to the point where my chest hurts from it and as such have been put on Nexium before. Just got a new precription of it recently lol. It really helps. For me the pain left really quickly and the acid reflux was gone and I don't remember having side effects of it at all. I am stareting my new prescription in the days to come lol. Btw, If you want more information on side effects I find that the best people for that are pharmacists. Most of them have computerized systems that enable them to print out a sheet on a specific medication which has the side effects listed on them. and they can even discuss the pros and cons of that medication with you. I find that for medication information pharmacist are great and underutilised lol. anyway, hope this helps a bit! -diva

Thank you guys for your responses. I did go to the doctor today and she said I have GERD and wants me to have an endoscopy done and I am really scared about that. I have to schedule it tomorrow but I am really worried about it. As for the heart palpitations, she thinks they may be anxiety but could also be due to the fact that I have been off of my blood pressure meds for nearly 3 weeks now (i got off of them after nearly 2 years on them and my pressure has been normal at home but high at the doctors office). She wants me back on the meds if I continue to have the palpitations along with any increase in my blood pressure numbers. Anyways, I feel better knowing I am not having a heart attack but I am also scared to take the nexium she gave me. Has anyone taken it? She gave me samples so I have no idea what side effects are possible or what to look for. Well, thanks for listening to me vent and any responses are greatly appreciated. ~Isabella~

Isabella, Start challenging those thoughts! Do also be sure to visit your doctor. Your heartburn may be due to diet or other causes which are easily treated should conventional methods fail. For your heart palpitations, they may be related to anxiety, they may not and again only your doctor can make that distinction. In the meantime, implementing a relaxation routine before bed and making sure your letting go of your anxieties during the day through physical activity or something like journalling may be helpful to you. Very happy to hear about the progress you've been making! You should be very proud of yourself! Danielle _____________________ The PC Support Team

Hi Isabella- If you have severe heartburn that won't go away, go get that checked out. Have you tried antacids? Be careful though not to take too many. I too have issues with lying on my back at night and get palpitations, but I found out I have mitral valve prolapse. Only your Doctor can determine that. I do not get hearburn with it. Maybe you ate something spicy or acidy? Too, PMS will cause heart palpitations sometimes due to hormonal changes according to my doctor. I don't know how old you are but it is really noticable in your 30's. Definitely go see your Doctor and let him or her know what is up. Dina

Hello everyone! I haven't been posting lately and have been doing really good. My anxiety has gone down the past two months and this has allowed me to gain back a part of my life that I thought was gone for good. For example, I now I go to the store alone and this was something that I haven't done in over a year. I have also been taking my son on bike rides all by myself and this was another thing that I was never able to do. So things have been going great until the past 3 or 4 days. I started having alot of heart palpitations, mostly when laying down and resting especially at night, and I have severe heartburn that will not go away. This has caused me alot of anxiety and I am soooo afraid that I am going to die or that something is really wrong. I was on my period when all of this started so I wonder if this could be causing it or if something is really wrong. I just need some reassurance and I am trying to keep myself composed, think positively, not think the absolute worst, but it is very hard. I appreciate any responses. Thanks. ~Isabella~
