Hi Stephany,
Welcome. This site is a lifesaver for me and I hope you find it helps you too. I can tell you that fighting this is not easy but you can gain control over life again. I am not agoraphobic in the sense I cannot leave my house but my safety zone is only a five block radius around where I live.
You will find alot of support here and people who know exactly what you go through every day. We have our good and bad days but we are here for each other. We all don't take the same meds so I can't tell you how your medication is but I'm sure others can/will.
I believe that we can get control of this problem and live a full and happy life. It takes time and patience so don't be too hard on yourself. Come here as often as you need to. We are trying to get the CBT buddies chat room going so if possible sign into it if you need to talk with others. I am usually on between 8-10 AM PST and I sign in so if people would like to chat they can. Take care
Stephk222,
Welcome to the forums! You've come to the right place!
Not only will you be connected with others in similar situations but there is a great therapy program to help you better manage your anxiety. It is located in your session diary.
With regards to your medication, your pharmacist or physician is the best authority to answer any questions you may have.
If you have any questions, just ask!
Danielle

Hi! I'm new here. My name is Stephany and I'm 19 years old. I started suffering about a month and a half ago from panic disorder and agoraphobia. I was just prescribed to lexapro and xanax, are these good medications? I haven't seen my friends in weeks and have no desire to go out or do anything. I fear everyday, every minute, when my next attack will be and if they'll ever end. I just want to talk to some people who are also suffering, so maybe I could get some advice. Glad to be here! :)
