Congratulations Lorlee!! Dentists are never my favorite either. But I've found one way to make it through the actual visit. My dentist knows what a chicken I am. We don't try and talk during the procedure and I take my glasses off and keeps my eyes closed until he tells me he's done. I find as long as I don't see what's going on, I can make it through any treatment he throws at me. I keep my eyes closed from the minute I sit down till it's all done. I can't watch any of it. He always seems to have a new assitant when I go see him, and he now explains to her that I don't watch and she shouldn't even bother trying to ask me a question, cause I won't answer her anyway.
You'll see, it won't be nearly as bad as you thought it was. Explain to him as soon as you get in that you have a great fear, I think most of them are used to that!!!lol Keep your eyes closed and just think about your breathing. I'm sure you'll do just fine!!!!
Lorlee,
Congratulations! This is a big step and we are proud!
Please let us know if we can help you in your preparations.
Danielle

Ok Guys I did it. After over a year I am finally going. I swear you could see the sweat pouring off of me as I stood in that office setting up an appointment for a check up and cleaning. I am determined to face this one head on though because I want to get my front tooth fixed so I can finally smile again.
My appointment is on June 27th at 2:00 pm. I sure would appreciate good thoughts being sent my way over this one. This is a new Dentist that I have never seen before so it means breaking him in to the big chicken that I am. I just need to keep reminding myself that when this is all over I will have a nice new smile. Just keep my eyes on the positive. I will keep you informed on how it all goes. ;p
