anxiety making me weak. HELP!

Hi Mandy, So sorry to hear about the rough time you are having. I have found that after a particularly intense panic attack I feel very weak and tired. I think that after we get that rush of adrenaline that makes us so afraid our body is exhausted by the rush we have just experienced. I think it is a fairly normal response but no less scary. This may sound a little wierd but I have also found after having a panic attack I feel like I released a pressure valve and almost feel better. Of course not when I was going through the attack. I hope you are feeling better.

Hey Mandy! Just wanted to let you know that this is a very normal physical anxiety symptom. Lately, it's the one I struggle with the most. I've always had it, but for some reason, it has become the focus of my anxiety anymore. The best thing to do when you feel like this is to remind yourself this is just from the anxiety and you are stronger than you feel. Also, remember that you won't pass out from anxiety. In order to pass out, you have to have a sudden drop in blood pressure. Anxiety will raise your adrenaline and in turn will increase your blood pressure slightly so you can't possibly pass out from it. That's what I keep reminding myself of when I feel like I'm going to collapse. Hope that helps!

Hiya Mandy, I hope you got through your night ok. I just wanted to say that in the past I have felt quite weak and faint during and attack along with nauseous and many other nasty symptoms. But it can get better :) The program here is hard work but it really helped me a lot! It did wonders for me :)I suggest you give it a go :) Anyway, hang in there and remember this too shall pass! -Diva

Hi Mandy, Yes, these are symptoms that can be associated with anxiety. There is tons of support and information available to you here at the site. Have you had a chance to check out our free online program? Working through the exercises will help you to understand more about your feelings of panic and anxiety and how to overcome them. I can't seem to shake this panic. I have been having attacks for over a year now and went a couple months without having any sever episodes. Last night I started having an attack. I ended up making my self vomit several times because I was nauseas and thought it would make me feel better. Needless to say it did not. I finally took an ativan and after about 30 minutes was able to fall to sleep. I ended up sleeping until 6:30 this evening which is unusual for me and even then I felt like I could have slept longer. Now I am having another episode. The worst part of this one is I feel very weak/faint and haven't had this symptom before. I took an ativan but it has yet to kick any. If anyone is on here and reads this could you please reply quickly. The weakness is really freaking me out. I just need someone to tell me if this is a normal anxiety symptom and to reassure me that I will be fine. and maybe some advice to help me get through the panic quicker. It seems like it won't end. Thank you.
